It was around two years ago when we reviewed Printerous, a platform which eases users to print photos which are uploaded on Instagram only. Now, it’s no longer being exclusive to Instagram, as the platform also supports printing of photos which are uploaded on Facebook as well as those from our own computer. Sekitar dua tahun lalu kami mengulas soal Printerous yang memudahkan konsumen mencetak foto-foto yang diunggah di Instagram. Kini Printerous telah berkembang dengan tampilan baru yang menarik. Instagram as a popular social network site indeed hasn’t managed to succeed in drawing revenue from its members, aside from receiving funding from investors and eventually acquired by Facebook. However, there are many services which utilize Instagram as its revenue source. I once tried Stickygram service to print pictures on Instagram as fridge magnets. Instagram sebagai jejaring sosial populer memang sampai sekarang belum menghasilkan pendapatan dari konsumennya, selain memperoleh pendanaan dari investor dan akhirnya diakuisisi oleh Facebook. Meskipun demikian, sudah banyak layanan yang memanfaatkan Instagram sebagai sumber pendapatannya. Bouncity Kini Dimiliki oleh Penerbit Game Qeon

Kami akhirnya mendapatkan konfirmasi bahwa layanan berbasis lokasi Bouncity telah dijual ke penerbit game Qeon untuk nilai yang tidak diungkapkan. Menurut sumber yang mengetahui perihal penjualan ini, kesepakatan Bouncity dilakukan di bulan Juni sebelum dua orang bagian penting dari tim, Kevin Osmond dan Richard Fang, keluar dari perusahaan. Kevin dan Richard kini berkolaborasi dan mendirikan perusahaan konsultan bernama Weekend Inc.

Qeon sendiri adalah pemain baru di industri penerbit game. Produk mereka saat ini adalah Shadow Company, sebuah online game First Person Shooter (FPS) yang diluncurkan bulan April. Sementara Bouncity memiliki proses gamifikasi pada layanannya, kami belum yakin tentang masa depan Bouncity di bawah kepemilikan manajemen Qeon. Qeon adalah bagian dari grup MidPlaza dan memiliki relasi yang cukup dekat dengan Biznet.

Bouncity Sold to Game Publisher Qeon (UPDATED)

We finally get confirmation that location based service Bouncity has been sold to game publisher Qeon for undisclosed amount. The previous owner, PhaseDev, is now focusing on the other two services under its management, Wayang Force and Tiket, while buzzing around with new stealth stuffs. According to source close to this matter, the Bouncity’s deal is closed on June before two of its key players, Kevin Osmond and Richard Fang, departing. Osmond and Fang are now collaborating to create consulting gig named Weekend Inc.

Qeon itself is a new player in game publishing industry. Its current product is Shadow Company, a First Person Shooter (FPS) online game that was launched in April. While Bouncity has some gamification process in the service, we are still not quite sure about the future of Bouncity under Qeon management. Qeon is part of MidPlaza group and having tight relationship with Biznet.

Jadi Kapan Bouncity untuk iPhone Akan Dirilis?

Pada hari Jumat kemarin, Bouncity akhirnya meluncurkan aplikasi Android mereka. Walaupun Bouncity sebelumnya hanya memiliki satu aplikasi, yaitu untuk BlackBerry, sebenarnya telah tersedia juga versi mobile web sejak Agustus lalu. Pada peluncuran Bouncity di awal Juni, tim dibalik pengembangan layanan ini telah berjanji untuk merilis aplikasi untuk iPhone dan Android pada akhir Juli, tetapi jelas peluncurannya tertunda.

Keputusan untuk meluncurkan aplikasi BlackBerry sebelum versi lain berdasarkan alasan bahwa terdapat jumlah serta aktivitas pengguna jaringan sosial di Indonesia yang signifikan berpusat di ponsel BlackBerry. Meski pengguna mobile internet di Indonesia bukan berpusat pada smartphone, namun mereka belum tentu merupakan target market dari layanan Bouncity.

Pada bulan Juli, COO Bouncity, Kevin Osmond telah memperlihatkan tampilan dari aplikasi Bouncity untuk iPhone ini nantinya, ia juga mengakui bahwa aplikasi itu mungkin hadir agak lama – beberapa bulan lagi, meskipun Kevin tidak menjelaskan alasan penundaan rilis.

So Where is Bouncity for iPhone?

On Friday Bouncity launched its long awaited Android app. While the location based activity game had only one app until this point, which is for BlackBerry, it had also been available as a mobile web version since August. At Bouncity’s launch in early June, the team had promised to release the iPhone and Android apps by the end of July but clearly both were delayed.

The decision to launch the BlackBerry app before any other version had been due to the significant number and activities of social network users in Indonesia being on BlackBerry phones. The majority of Indonesians with mobile Internet however, are not on smartphones but they may not necessarily be the market segment that Bouncity is after anyway. Bouncity Presents Mobile Web Version

As launched on June 8th 2011, there was no other mobile platform encroached by Bouncity except Blackberry. It was promised that Bouncity would be launched for Andorid and iPhone platform on June. However, it seems that only after September the application will be available.

Occupying the time before the platforms ready, Bouncity launched its mobile web version that can be access from any cell phones, especially for those feature phones available in Indonesia. You may just need to click http://m.bouncity.com from your mobile browser.

Basically, the appearance of Bouncity’s version for BlackBerry and mobile web are quite similar. According to COO Bouncity, Kevin Osmond, after login, you may complete the challenges provided such as check in, quiz, and answer a question. All the things you can do in Blackberry Bouncity, can be done in mobile version as well.

Bouncity Hadirkan Versi Mobile Web

Sejak diluncurkan pertama kali tanggal 8 Juni lalu, praktis belum ada mobile platform lain yang dirambah oleh Bouncity selain BlackBerry. Awalnya dijanjikan Bouncity hadir di bulan Juli untuk Android dan iPhone, ternyata diperkirakan baru dapat hadir awal September mendatang.
