Tasterous Launch Official Android App

According to a tweet from co-founder Ronald Ishak, the food-tasting app Tasterous has officially launched their Android app available for download from Google Android Market.

Tasterous is basically a new location based food hunting mobile game that will lead you to the best local dishes nearby. A discovery tool for food lovers trying to find new variety of food surrounding them, and also with a gaming mechanism involved. A charming concept, although the execution is really slow responded with dissatisfaction from early anticipating users. We would have to wait until it’s fully and publicly launched to really see the users’ response to the service.

The Android app basically lets you upload photos of food and which restaurant you got them from, share the info with your friends. The goal is simply to see what others are having, as well as sharing to other what you’re having. And to be honest, it’s a very niche market with limited benefit for foodies only.

Tasterous untuk BlackBerry Diluncurkan

Tasterous, salah satu startup yang ditunggu-tunggu peluncuran produknya hari ini akan meluncurkan versi perdananya yang dapat dinikmati oleh pengguna BlackBerry. Ada yang berminat mencobanya bisa mengakses tautan berikut dari BlackBerry browser.

Aplikasi ini dapat berjalan dengan baik untuk versi OS 5 atau di atasnya. Jangan khawatir, Ronald Ishak selaku CEO Tasterous memastikan bahwa tahun ini Tasterous akan hadir untuk platform BlackBerry, BlackBerry PlayBook, Android, Android Tablet, iOS (iPhone dan iPad), serta Windows Mobile (atau Windows Phone 7). Tasterous sendiri memanfaatkan API Foursquare sebagai basis layanan check-in-nya dengan menambahkan elemen food hunting game dan poin, sebagaimana yang tercantum di halaman depan situsnya.

Tasterous for BlackBerry Launched

Tasterous, one of the most awaited Indonesian startups launches its BlackBerry app today. Those interested may head up to this link from their BlackBerry Browser. This app will be able to run on OS 5 version or above.

Worry not, Ronald Ishak as CEO of Tasterous has assured that within this year, Tasterous will be available for BlackBerry, BlackBerry PlayBook, Android, Android Tablet, iOS (iPhone and iPad) also Windows Mobile (or Windows Phone 7). Tasterous itself uses Foursquare API as check-in service basis and adding food-hunting game and point element, as depicted at site’s frontpage.

Mengintip Aplikasi Tasterous Untuk BlackBerry

DailySocial mendapatkan rilis awal dari aplikasi Tasterous untuk BlackBerry pagi ini, Amir Karimuddin dan Rahmat Harlyadi sedang mencoba aplikasi ini dengan perangkat masing-masing, Amir dengan Storm, sementara Rahmat dengan nya Bold 2, (atau Bold 3? Well, dia punya keduanya).

Anyway, kami akan meng-update artikel tentang Tasterous nanti dengan pengalaman menggunakan aplikasi ini serta informasi lanjutan dari Tasterous sendiri. Pada percobaan kali ini, karena merupakan rilis awal, masih ada beberapa bug yang perlu ditangani, tetapi Tasterous sedang memperbaiki aplikasi mereka dan menyiapkan kejutan lain sebagai persiapan peluncuran. Sambil menunggu rilis resmi mereka, silahkan menikmati beberapa screenshot dari aplikasi Tasterous untuk BlackBerry.

Early Look at Tasterous’ BlackBerry App

We were provided with an early release of Tasterous‘ BlackBerry app this morning and right now, our own Amir Karimuddin and Rahmat Harlyadi are going through the app with their respective devices, Amir with his Storm while Rahmat with his Bold 2, (or is it 3? he’s got both) Anyway, we’ll update the post with their feedback, comments, and impressions of the app. As it is an early release, there are still some bugs that need to be addressed. In the meantime, enjoy these photos.

Tasterous Added 2 Technology Rockstar in Board of Directors

Tasterous, the most anticipated startup, launched by its founders Ronald Ishak and Deche Pangestu on Jakarta Ventures Night, Friday, March 18, 2011. Tasterous is a startup of photo sharing special for food lovers, where there will be a “food check-in” for its users. From here you probably can see who share the same taste of food, hang out, dining, and photo (of course) buddies.

Other than the launching, Ronald and Deche also announced the joining of two rockstar in technology industry especially in startup community as their Board of Directors. They are Selina Limman (CEO of Urbanesia) and also Ken Dean Lawadinata (CEO of Kaskus Networks), whose names are familiar to us especially if you are a constant reader of DailySocial.

Tasterous siap diluncurkan, we have 10 invites only!

Startup stealth Tasterous yang digawangi oleh Ronald Ishak dan Deche Pangestu sore ini mulai sedikit membuka diri mengenai layanan mereka dan menunjukkan tanda-tanda kesiapan untuk launching. Startup yang mulai dikembangkan sejak tahun lalu ini memang mengundang banyak spekulasi mengenai jenis layanannya, meski yang pasti tidak akan jauh-jauh dari makanan (melihat dari namanya).

Dan untuk mencoba lebih jauh, DailySocial akan membagikan 10 (sepuluh) beta invite untuk 10 orang pertama yang meninggalkan alamat emailnya di kolom komentar untuk dapat mencoba Tasterous di perangkat smartphone Blackberry, iPhone dan Android. Mungkin karena dua foundernya sudah bukan lagi nama baru di scene web startup Indonesia, Ronald Ishak dan Deche Pangestu. Ronald yang dulu sukses membangun Domikado dan juga turut melambungkan nama NsiaPay dan Doku, kini fokus dalam mengembangkan Tasterous bersama dengan Deche Pangestu yang merupakan engineer berbakat jebolan Urbanesia.

Petualangan Terbaru Ronald Ishak

Beberapa minggu yang lalu saya sudah menuliskan pengalaman saya berbincang dengan Ronald Ishak (founder Domikado) dan keinginan Ronald untuk terus berbincang dengan rekan-rekan entrepreneur dan internet enthusiasts sembari makan siang. Kali ini Ronald kembali mengejutkan saya dengan pengumumannya untuk keluar dari Domikado untuk memulai startupnya yang baru. Pengumuman ini dilakukan via Twitter, dimana Ronald akan menggandeng Deche Pangestu (ex-Urbanesia) untuk membangun startup terbarunya yang diberi nama Tasterous.

Deche Pangestu sendiri merupakan seorang programmer yang luar biasa berbakat dan telah beberapa kali memenangkan award untuk karya2nya. Deche pernah memenangkan Bubu Awards dan juga kompetisi mobile programming untuk platform Blackberry. Tidak diragukan lagi, Deche merupakan salah satu programmer yang sangat berbakat.

Domikado Founder To Start A New Startup

Ronald Ishak, founder of Domikado announced yesterday via his Twitter account about his resignation from Domikado to start another company he called Tasterous. Ronald founded and run Domikado for his previous financial company, Ciptadana and his effort has been successfully putting Domikado as one of the most popular lifestyle Blackberry app for Indonesian users. Ronald will officially start working on Tasterous next December.

This time Ronald is not alone, he teamed up with award winning chick-geek engineer, Deche Pangestu (former Urbanesia). Deche was a winner of Bubu Awards (a web design competition) and also won a Blackberry app programming contest a few months ago. so she’s definitely one of the most talented engineer in Indonesia.
