Yahoo! MyBlogLog Resmi Ditutup 24 Mei, Komunitas Blogger Meradang

Yahoo! kembali menegaskan kepada pemilik akun MyBlogLog bahwa layanan komunitas blogger itu akan resmi ditutup mulai tanggal 24 Mei mendatang. Sebagai penggantinya Yahoo! menyarankan penggunaan Yahoo! Pulse meskipun fungsinya tidak mirip-mirip benar. MyBlogLog yang didirikan awal Januari 2005 akan menghabiskan masa baktinya setelah 6 tahun. Ini merupakan korban baru kebijakan efisiensi Yahoo! dan bisa dibilang MyBlogLog merupakan salah satu bentuk akuisisi startup yang “salah urus”.

Dahulu kala, sebelum adanya Facebook Social Plugin ataupun Google Connect, MyBlogLog dan BlogCatalog adalah sarana blogger membentuk komunitas. Komunitas terhadap suatu blog yang menarik, misalnya “Komunitas penggemar DailySocial”.

Tiap blog dengan kedua layanan tersebut dapat memiliki penggemar setia di mana setiap hadir di blog yang diikutinya, akan tampak dalam widget box bahwa seorang blogger telah mampir ke blog tersebut. Let’s help our friends in Japan with IDForJapan Application

We were all devastated when we saw what hit Japan a couple of weeks ago. Earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear reactor leak threat causing countless casualties. As mere mortal and fellow humans we sure hope that everything will return back to the way it was there. And we, from DailySocial also offers our deepest condolence of this disaster.

BlackBerry Playbook Officially Supports Android Application

A surprising announcement, but predicted, launched by Research in Motion (RIM). This popular smart phone maker announced the availability of its Playbook tablets by mid-April in the United States and Canada. Reportedly Playbook will enter Indonesian market at least on early May. What surprising is not the confirmation of its launch date, but the Playbook support on Android applications which is compatible with the Operating System version 2.3 (Gingerbread). Playbook also supports the development of applications using Native C/C++, HTML5, Adobe Flash, and Adobe AIR, as well as support for the gaming engine Airplay SDK and Unity 3.

The announcement appears to remove the arrogance of the BlackBerry which was standing strong against the threat of Android and the iPhone. Through his press release, Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO of RIM said that additional BlackBerry applications with Java and Android for BlackBerry Playbook via BlackBerry App World will provide more options for users and the flexibility of this platform. BlackBerry Playbook itself has a BlackBerry Tablet operating system based on QNX, which the author was acquired by RIM a year ago.

Intel Unveils Second Generation Core Processors in Indonesia

Located on Level 7 fCone fX Senayan Jakarta, Intel Indonesia introduced a line of its newest processor that is a part of the second generation Core processors family. Using a name code Sandy Bridge, this processor family is technically using a 32-nm process technology, which is the distance between a transistor to another. There are new series of Core i3, i5, and i7 which are focused on helping users overall productivity, particularly for those related to multimedia.

The event began with a welcome speech from Debjani Ghosh, director of Intel Southeast Asia. He said that Indonesia is one of the PC market with the most rapid growth in the world. Of course, other than those related to productivity, mostly the use of PC is also connected to the Internet. Based on the survey that 40% of Internet consumption is related to multimedia, but we know that the Internet connection in Indonesia generally is not very fast.

BlackBerry PlayBook Secara Resmi Dukung Aplikasi Android

Suatu pengumuman mengejutkan, tapi sudah diprediksi sebelumnya, dilansir oleh Research in Motion (RIM). Pembuat ponsel pintar populer ini mengumumkan ketersediaan tablet PlayBook-nya pertengahan April di Amerika Serikat dan Kanada. Kabarnya PlayBook akan masuk Indonesia setidaknya awal Mei. Yang mengejutkan bukan konfirmasi tanggal peluncurannya, melainkan dukungan PlayBook terhadap aplikasi Android yang kompatibel dengan Sistem Operasi versi 2.3 (Gingerbread).
