Social Commerce App Pintails Wins Inaugural AngelHack Jakarta Challenge

This past weekend Jakarta was host to AngelHack, a global hackathon event spanning 30 cities with more than 6000 participants. The Jakarta event was held at IDC Indonesia, home to the country’s primary data centers, located at Duren Tiga in South Jakarta. One winning team was chosen from the 29 projects that were built over 24 hours. There was no central theme, no immediate cash prizes, but the winning team earned the right to a 10 week mentorship and participate in AngelHack Accelerator program in San Francisco as well as attending TechCrunch Disrupt in September.

Jakarta’s International Space Apps Challenge to be Held at Freeware

On April 20-21 2012, DailySocial and @america held the inaugural International Space Apps Challenge, an event run by NASA across 25 locations around the world (including on the International Space Station). There were 2000 participants spending two days working, collaborating, engaging, coding, and creating solutions to assist in space and earth explorations. This year, we’ll be doing it again, with 50 more locations participating.

Nokia Indonesia and Microsoft Indonesia are running another joint app competition, this time it’s called Lumia App Olympiad. The competition is open to students and the public who are proficient in using the SDK for Windows Phone 7.5 or Windows Phone 8. The winner will receive a gold medal, Nokia Premium Developer Program worth USD 1500, and the latest Nokia smartphone powered by Windows Phone 8. The event is supported by Evernote, Radya Labs, and Merah Putih Inc.
