Indonesia’s first Hackerspace : Bandung!

I’ve been telling more VCs and influential people in the digital industri to go take a look to Bandung, 2.5 hours south of Jakarta is the home to young innovators with strong comunal sense. The best engineering college in Indonesia (Institute Teknologi Bandung) is there, educating hackers, engineers and producing some of the best engineers in Indonesia. Some technology and internet legend also came from Bandung, no doubt it’s a perfect ecosystem for innovation.

And only a few weeks ago, the startup guys in Bandung announced that they’re opening Bandung’s own ground for innovators to come hangout and work together. It’s called HackerspaceBDG, and it’s the first Hackerspace in Indonesia that actually kicks ass! It’s right in the middle of the town, a home for about 12 people working on their own stuff.

Next time you want to visit Indonesia to see startups, you might want to consider Bandung as well. It’s a nerd heaven, and here’s some picture of it đŸ˜‰
