Perangkat Nokia Lumia 520 adalah salah satu perangkat Nokia sebelum berada di bawah panji Microsoft, pasca berpindah tangan Nokia Lumia 520 masih melaju di track yang benar dan dinobatkan sebagai salah satu perangkat Windows Phone paling sukses setelah diklaim terjual sebanyak 12 juta unit di seluruh dunia.

HTC One, iPad Air, dan Lumia 520 Raih Gelar Perangkat Terbaik 2013 Versi Global Mobile Awards

Selain menjadi ajang pameran tren terbaru di industri mobile, rangkaian acara Mobile World Congress juga menyertakan sebuah acara penghargaan untuk mengakui prestasi para pelaku industri mobile. Pada acara penghargaan yang dinamakan sebagai Global Mobile Awards tersebut, HTC One, iPad Air, dan Lumia 520 meraih penghargaan sebagai perangkat terbaik tahun 2013.

HTC One terpilih sebagai smartphone terbaik 2013, sementara iPad Air terpilih sebagai tablet terbaik 2013, dan Lumia 520 terpilih sebagai smartphone murah terbaik (dengan kriteria harga di bawah $150). Pemilihan ketiga perangkat ini sebagai perangkat terbaik 2013 dilakukan oleh 175 juri yang terdiri dari para analis, jurnalis, akademisi, dan pakar di bidang teknologi mobile yang ditunjuk oleh GSM Association.

Di kategori lainnya, LG terpilih sebagai produsen perangkat paling inovatif tahun 2013. Nokia masih mempertahankan tradisinya di kategori feature phone dengan terpilihnya Nokia 105 sebagai feature phone terbaik. Sebelumnya titel ini dipegang oleh perangkat besutan Nokia lainnya, Asha 305.

Telkomsel dan Nokia Hadirkan Layanan Carrier Billing untuk Seri Lumia

Bersamaan dengan peluncuran Nokia Lumia 520 yang hadir eksklusif di Telkomsel, operator seluler terbesar di Indonesia ini juga mengumumkan bahwa skema carrier billing (atau potong pulsa) juga akan tersedia untuk jajaran smartphone Lumia mulai bulan Juni mendatang. Skema ini bisa digunakan untuk membeli aplikasi maupun layanan lain yang terkait dengan Windows Phone Store. Meskipun demikian, kemudahan ini tidak akan berlaku untuk merk smartphone lain yang juga sama-sama menggunakan sistem operasi Windows Phone.

Lumia 520 dan Lumia 720 Resmi Diperkenalkan Nokia

Bersamaan dengan diluncurkannya ponsel low-end Nokia 105 dan Nokia 301, berita yang ditunggu pun hadir. Rumor atas perangkat Lumia terbaru dengan harga yang lebih murah akhirnya benar terjadi, Nokia secara resmi mengumumkan smartphone dengan Windows Phone 8, Nokia Lumia 520 dan Lumia 720.

Rumor: Lumia 1000, Lumia 720 dan Lumia 520

Beberapa waktu lalu kami sempat membahas mengenai rumor akan diluncurkannya seri baru ponsel berbasis Windows Phone dari Lumia yang akan menggunakan teknologi PureView. Ponsel yang saat ini memiliki kode nama EOS ini dikatakan akan memiliki sensor kamera dengan resolusi sebesar 41 MP. Saat itu, EOS dirumorkan akan dirilis pada tahun 2013 ini.

Kali ini rumor datang dari blog teknologi Unwired View. Menurut Unwired View, pada situs operator seluler China Mobile (yang merupakan operator seluler terbesar di Cina dan seluruh dunia berdasarkan jumlah pelanggan), ditemukan sebuah entri Lumia yang belum pernah muncul sebelumnya. Entri ini bertuliskan Lumia 1000. Besar dugaan dari Unwired View bahwa nama inilah yang akan menjadi nama resmi EOS.

Selain itu, Unwired View juga mengabarkan bahwa dua entri Lumia lainnya yang akan menambah daftar seri ponsel pintar berbasis Windows Phone dari Nokia. Adalah Lumia 720 dan Lumia 520 yang didapati oleh blog Nokianesia telah lulus sertifikasi dari Direktorat Jenderal Pos dan Telekomunikasi Indonesia. Kedua entri ini muncul di situs resmi Dirjen Postel. Diyakini, keduanya adalah penerus dari seri Lumia 710 dan Lumia 510 yang pernah diluncurkan sebelumnya. Blog Nokianesia sendiri meyakini bahwa Lumia 720 dan Lumia 520 akan dirilis pada kuartal kedua tahun ini.

Unwired View berspekulasi bahwa kedua seri ini akan diperuntukkan bagi pasar low-end sebagaimana Lumia 620. Meskipun demikian, hingga saat tulisan ini dibuat, belum ada informasi lebih detil lagi mengenai spesifikasi kedua perangkat ini.
