Nokia Indonesia Aggressively Pushing Digital Music Downloads Through Nokia Music

Nokia Indonesia launched its latest mid-range mobile phone, the Asha 302, yesterday in Jakarta. While DailySocial doesn’t normally cover gadget launches, there’s something different about this that relates to how Nokia is trying to maintain mind share as well as market share in Indonesia. Part of the strategy for this product is something that has been mentioned before on DailySocial. It may not be fool proof but Nokia certainly has the right ingredients, it’s just a matter of how the company puts them all together in its marketing push.

One of the most significant part of the puzzle here is the inclusion of Nokia Music Store in the Asha 302. Consumers who buy the 302 get a six month access to the music store in which they can download as many songs as they like for free and listen to them as often as they want.

The Launch of the Nokia Asha 300 and the Importance of Applications for Mobile Platforms

Several days ago, Nokia launched the Asha 300 in Indonesia aimed at the middle to lower market segment in Indonesia, the Asha 300. With decent technical specifications, Asha 300 has a fairly affordable price range for IDR 1 million. 300 Asha is a S40-based Nokia mobile phone which had sold more than 1.5 billion units since the first appearance through the Nokia 7110 in 2007. This time I won’t discuss about the cell phone itself, you can read it in the other gadget blogs. I think it is interesting this time as Nokia took a big name application to promote his cell phone.

Rovio Mobile has suddenly become famous in the mobile world. Angry Birds has been such a phenomenal game this past two years. It has been downloaded (and purchased) more than 700 million times. Angry Birds however, is only one out of the 52 games made by Rovio. You could say that previous fifty-one have failed. You can read this article to find out more about the history of Rovio.

Back to the launch of Asha 300, Nokia took Angry Birds as a selling point. Asha Series is the only mobile phone product that isn’t purely smartphone and can play this popular game. Nokia also brought Peter Vesterbacka, a Mighty Eagle or Rovio’s Chief Marketing Officer, to attend and give discourses to local developers who has the vision of similar success.

Peluncuran Nokia Asha 300 dan Pentingnya Aplikasi untuk Suatu Platform Mobile

Hari ini Nokia meluncurkan produk baru untuk kalangan menengah ke bawah di Indonesia yang diberi nama Asha 300. Dengan spesifikasi teknis yang lumayan, Asha 300 memiliki kisaran harga yang cukup terjangkau (Rp 1 juta). Asha 300 ini merupakan ponsel Nokia berbasis S40 yang diam-diam telah terjual lebih dari 1.5 miliar unit sejak kemunculannya pertama kali melalui Nokia 7110 di tahun 1999. Kali ini saya tidak akan membahas tentang ponselnya itu sendiri, Anda bisa melihatnya di blog gadget yang lainnya. Yang menurut saya menarik adalah kali ini Nokia menggandeng suatu aplikasi dengan nama besar untuk mempromosikan ponselnya.

Rovio Mobile tiba-tiba menjadi buah bibir di dunia mobile. Game Angry Birds yang fenomenal dalam dua tahun saja telah diunduh (dan dibeli) sebanyak lebih dari 700 juta kali!
