XL Axiata Builds Cloud Service With Six Partners

Telkom with its TelkomCloud is not the only telco entering cloud computing service field. This time XL Axiata is trying to do the same thing by cooperating with six business partners. They are Fujitsu, IBM, Huawei, Microsoft, Intratech and Mandawani. The official launch of this service is scheduled for May 2012.

Dian Siswarini, XL Director of Technology, Content & New Business, as quoted by the SWA explains, “The background of the delivery of this cloud service is as one form of XL’s seriousness in data service. We believe that the demand for data service will continue to grow in Indonesia. One of the business opportunities for qualified data service is inside cloud computing solution business. The inclusion of XL in cloud computing business shows that XL continues to innovate with new business, including in the data service, to provide great service to Indonesia.”

XL Axiata Bangun Layanan Cloud dengan Enam Partner

Tidak cuma Telkom dengan TelkomCloud-nya yang masuk ke kancah layanan cloud computing (komputasi awan). Kali ini XL Axiata mencoba melakukan hal yang sama dengan menggandeng enam partner bisnis. Mereka adalah Fujitsu, IBM, Huawei, Microsoft, Intratech, dan Mandawani. Peluncuran layanan cloud ini akan dilakukan secara resmi per Mei 2012.

Dian Siswarini, Direktur Teknologi, Content & New Business XL, seperti dikutip dari SWA menjelaskan, “Latar belakangnya penyelenggaraan layanan cloud ini merupakan salah satu bentuk keseriusan XL terhadap layanan data. Kami percaya bahwa permintaan layanan data akan terus tumbuh di Indonesia. Salah satu peluang bisnis terhadap layanan data yang berkualitas terdapat di bisnis solusi komputasi awan. Masuknya XL pada bisnis komputasi awan ini menunjukkan bahwa XL terus melakukan inovasi bisnis baru, termasuk di data, untuk menyediakan layanan yang terbaik bagi Indonesia.”

Fujitsu Helps BPPT to Develop Cloud Infrastructure for Government

As I have discussed in some previous posts, 2012 will be an important milestone for cloud infrastructure in Indonesia. Provider will begin to conduct roadshows and strengthen their brand awareness, while costumers and potential costumers can’t wait to test the service as a solution to their needs. It seems the cloud solution began to spread to the government sectors.

Fujitsu Indonesia is acting as cloud infrastructure provider, meanwhile BPPT is a cloud user that related to the data centre and Knowledge Management System. This project, as quoted from Swa, is scheduled to be completed in January 2012. BPPT is the first client of Fujitsu cloud services in Indonesia.

Interestingly, local government seems to understand about the necessity of using cloud technology to support the public promotion. Cimahi municipal government and Pekalongan regency government are two local governments that will use the solutions offered by BPPT (and of course everything would be stored in the cloud infrastructure). In addition, BPPT is also targeting to get a new “small and medium enterprises” as clients.

Fujitsu Bantu BPPT Kembangkan Infrastruktur Awan untuk Pemerintahan

Seperti yang saya bahas di beberapa tulisan sebelumnya, tahun 2012 akan menjadi tonggak penting bagi transisi penggunaan teknologi dan infrastruktur awan (cloud) di Indonesia. Penyedianya akan mulai melakukan roadshow dan memperkuat brand awareness, sementara konsumen dan calon konsumen tak sabar untuk menguji coba layanan semacam ini sebagai solusi bagi kebutuhannya. Dan nampaknya solusi cloud mulai merambah ke sektor pemerintahan.

Adalah Fujitsu Indonesia yang bertindak selaku penyedia infrastruktur cloud, sementara BPPT merupakan pengguna cloud yang berkaitan dengan data center dan Knowledge Management System. Proyek ini, seperti dikutip dari Swa, dijadwalkan bakal rampung per Januari 2012 ini. BPPT adalah klien pertama layanan cloud Fujitsu Indonesia.
