Andi Boediman Launches Ideosource, Incubates eEvent.com

We’ve been wondering about what Andi Boediman will do after he left the e-commerce giant Plasa.com earlier this year following the steps of his fellow partner Shinta Dhanuwardoyo. Andi told us that he wanted to focus on his educational venture, International Design School, but we always knew he wasn’t gonna give up the startup scene that easy.

Today, Andi S Boediman officially announce that he’s starting a brand new tech-startup incubator called Ideosource. And surprisingly, he’s already got an event management startup eEvent under Ideosource.

Incubator and VC’s Complaint on Indonesian Startups Readiness

For the past few months big groups are penetrating investment on tech startups in Indonesia, even companies from Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, China, and US  are slowly trying out Indonesian startups market. Most of them are financial company ready to invest Indonesian “sizzling” tech startups.

Unfortunately, some unprepared startups have disappointed the investors the moment they met. The startups are too infatuated with the term “Romanticism of Silicon Valley” – like Budi Putra said.

You have brilliant idea, find a co-founder, funded by investors, acquired by Google, and become ultra rich with outstanding reputation and perhaps a red Ferarri in the garage. And life is beautiful.

Selaras dengan Visi Bakrie Telecom Media dan Teknologi 2015 yang diumumkan pada bulan Maret lalu, inkubator baru ini mengalokasikan lebih dari US$11 juta untuk mendukung beberapa startup selama tiga tahun.

Nusantara Incubation Fund launched for Indonesian startups

nusantara logoIndonesian startups looking for possible investment opportunities now have another option to which they can pitch their ideas. Bakrie Telecom yesterday launched Nusantara Incubation Fund to invest in new companies who operate web and mobile services and apps as well as next generation media.

The new incubator is allocating more than US$11 million to support several startups for three years and is part of Bakrie’s Telecom Media and Technology Vision 2015 which was announced back in March of this year.

The investment committee at Nusantara Incubation is made up of four highly experienced professionals who are recognized as leaders and experts in their fields. They are Shinta Dhanuwardoyo, Frederik J. Meijer, better known as Erik Meijer, Jastiro Arbi, and Hasan Yahya. Their respective profiles are available at Nusantara’s website. Bakrie Telecom Prepares 100 Billion for Local Application Developer Incubation

In order to increase the passion of local developers making useful applications, Bakrie Telecom (BTEL) makes a breakthrough. No half-hearted, a 100 billion Rupiah (or U.S. $ 11.5 million at the exchange rate today) was waged in the form of incubation so that the developers (or by the BTEL term, technopreneurs) want to develop interesting and useful applications for the community that will be marketed through BTEL network.

This incentive is one of some BTEL visions as outlined in the Bakrie Telecom, Media, and Technology (BakrieTMT2015) campaign which was held in Blitzmegaplex, Grand Indonesia. BTEL is ready to issue the total investment of 5 trillion rupiah (around U.S. $ 575 million). This synergy is quite similar to the T.I.M.E concept developed by Telkom Indonesia, the largest telecommunications group’s company in the country.
