Event Review: MindTalk AppsDay 2012 Chapter Yogyakarta

Sekitar seminggu yang lalu, Mindtalk – sebuah tool social networking (lebih tepat disebut social chanel) buatan lokal telah mengadakan sebuah kompetisi (hackathon) di Yogyakarta, yang dimana para peserta yang kesemuanya adalah developer ini diharuskan membangun sebuah aplikasi menggunakan platform dan API Mindtalk. Kompetisi ini bernama MindTalk AppsDay 2012.

Mindtalk AppsDay 2012 chapter Yogyakarta sendiri diselenggarakan pada tanggal 5 – 6 April 2012 yang lalu dan bertempat di University Club Universitas Gadjah Mada. Antusiasme peserta cukup seru, dimana terdapat sekitar 32 developer yang mendaftar hackathon ini dan menghasilkan sekitar 12 aplikasi maupun game yang menggunakan platform dan API MindTalk, termasuk aplikasi Blibli.com.

Event Review: MindTalk AppsDay 2012 Yogyakarta Chapter

About a week ago, MindTalk – a local social networking tool (more properly called social channel) held a MindTalk AppsDay 2012, a hackathon, in Yogyakarta, in which participants were required to build an application using MindTalk platform and API.

Mindtalk AppsDay 2012 Yogyakarta was held between April 5-6, 2012 and was hosted by the University Club at Gadjah Mada University. There where around 30 developers registered for this hackathon and produced around 12 applications as well as games using MindTalk’s application and API, including apps for Blibli.com.

MindTalk Challenges Developers to Build Local Apps

MindTalk.com, a local social media tool (more adept to be called social channel), is holding a competition called MindTalk Apps Day 2012. The competition challenges local developers, individual or group (3 people max), to build applications using MindTalk’s platform for 24 hours nonstop (hackathon). MindTalk Apps Day 2012 will be held in two cities, Yogyakarta and Malang.

In Yogyakarta, the event will be held on April 5 – 6, 2012 which will take place at University Club, Gajah Mada University – Jl. Pancasila no. 2, Bulaksumur, and in Malang on April 14 – 15, 2012 at Hotel Pelangi – Jl. Merdeka Selatan no, 3. At both venues, the event will be held from 13.30 WIB (first day) until 13.30 WIB (last day). As we have mentioned above, the event will be held for 24 hours nonstop just like usual hackathons.

Registration for MindTalk Apss Day 2012 in Yogyakarta was opened on March 21, 2012 – April 2, 2012, while registration for Malang is still open until April 9, 2012.

Mindtalk Tantang Developer Kembangkan Aplikasi Lokal

MindTalk.com, sebuah tool social media buatan lokal (lebih tepat disebut social channel) mengadakan sebuah kompetisi bernama MindTalk Apps Day 2012. Kompetisi ini menantang para developer lokal baik individu maupun kelompok (maksimal 3 orang) untuk membangun sebuah aplikasi dengan menggunakan platform MindTalk selama 24 jam nonstop (hackathon). MindTalk Apps Day 2012 sendiri akan dilaksanakan di dua kota yaitu di Yogyakarta dan Malang.

Di Yogyakarta, acara ini akan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 5 – 6 April 2012 yang bertempat di University Club Universitas Gadjah Mada – Jl. Pancasila No. 2, Bulaksumur, Yogyakarta dan di Malang akan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 14 – 15 April 2012 yang bertempat di Hotel Pelangi – Jl. Merdeka Selatan No. 3. Di kedua kota tersebut MindTalk Apps Day 2012 akan dilaksanakan pada pukul 13.30 (hari pertama) – 13.30 WIB (hari terakhir), seperti yang kami sebutkan sebelumnya acara ini digelar selama 24 jam nonstop yang mirip hackathon pada umumnya.

Gaming Company SoybeanSoft Closes Funding Round From East Ventures

Jogjakarta based gaming company SoybeanSoft today announces their strategic partnership with East Ventures. SoybeanSoft is a multiplatform game developer focusing on the local market such as ‘Hunter Story an action-RPG for the web, iOS and Android.

SoybeanSoft is a game studio founded in 2007 and has released several casual web games for licensing. SoybeanSoft has been working with several major game portals worldwide, including MochiMedia, ArmorGames, DisneyXD, Candystand, and SpielGames. SoybeanSoft is East Ventures’ second gaming company on their portfolio after early this year Bandung-based mobile gaming company Nightspade also closes funding round from East Ventures.

Another Location Based Social Network from Yogyakarta

Dailysocial readers must know the local location based social services such as Yahoo! Koprol, Urbanesia, and Personaflag, for Yogya, beside Personaflag there is another location based social service called t4nya.com.

This one social media is quite interesting, has a slight difference from the others and a little bit unique. The first approach is mark a favorite location and then user can add photos, give score and comment to the place they’ve visited before, able to find places, location and new relations.

It’s quiet interesting from UI and UX side and also user friendly. The users have been given the privilege to add important places or their own favorite location on the map. It’s easy to add places and the funny icons display in each category made me comfortable in using t4nya.com. Even though it’s still in beta version, t4nya.com is such an addictive social service.

Founder Detik Dikabarkan Akan Mendanai Sebuah Startup Baru di Jogjakarta

Masih segar berita kesepakatan akuisisi Detik.com oleh Para Group, founder dan editor in chief Budiono Darsono dikabarkan tengah mengumpulkan sejumlah blogger dan pengembang dari Jogjakarta untuk membuat startup baru. Menurut kabar yang beredar, startup baru ini tidak berupa portal berita, sehingga tidak akan bersaing dengan Detik, namun tetap menarik untuk diperhatikan karena masih belum jelas bentuknya.

Apa pun yang akan dibangun oleh Budi, orang-orang yang sedang dikumpulkan sepertinya dipilih secara acak. Kami mendapatkan informasi bahwa mereka berasal dari latar belakang yang berbeda, seperti developer, blogger, dan community leader, tetapi semuanya memiliki kehadiran yang menonjol di Internet, apakah itu di sebuah blog, komunitas akun twitter, Facebook Group, milis, atau apapun itu.

Detik co-founder to fund a new startup in Jogjakarta

Fresh from the acquisition agreement of Detik.com by Para Group, Detik’s founder and editor in chief Budiono Darsono is said to be rounding up a number of bloggers and developers from Jogjakarta to create a brand new startup. Word on the street is it will not be a news portal, so it’s not going to compete with Detik, but it will be one to watch nonetheless, especially since it’s not clear at this point what it will be.

Whatever it is he is building, the people he’s putting together may seem rather random. We were told that they come from different backgrounds, such as developers, bloggers, and community leaders, but all supposedly have prominent presence on the Internet, whether it’s a blog, community twitter account, Facebook group, mailing list, whatever.

Jogja’s Events This Weekend: SparxUp Seminar, Gamelan, and IDBYTE

Jogja will be a merrier city by this weekend thanks to three startup events. SparxUp Seminar on May 27, 2011 at University Club Gadjah – Mada University, and on the same day there will be GameDev StartUp Community Jogja – Gamelan launching at Potret Cafe, Taman Kuliner Condong Catur, Sleman. On Saturday May 28, 2011 IDBYTE will be held at STIMIK AMIKOM.

As for SparxUp, last March the seminar was held in Yogya on “Technology Trends for Digital”. This month’s SparxUp theme will be the same like FOWAB‘s theme recently, “Monetizing Mobile Advertising Era”. SparxUp Jogja this time collaborates with Bancakan 2.0 and will be assisted by friends from HIMAKOM.

The speakers will be Edo Pamungkas – Mobile Platform Manager from Merah Putih Incubator and one guest speaker Sigit Purnomo – Founder Personaflag.com (winner of SparxUp 2010for Mobile Category). The event will be held on May 27, 2011 at University Club Universitas Gadjah Mada, Jalan Pancasila No.2 Bulaksumur, Yogyakarta on 19.00-22.00 WIB.

Event SparxUp Seminar, Gamelan, dan IDBYTE Digelar di Jogja Akhir Pekan Ini

Akhir pekan kali ini, kota Jogja akan kebanjiran tiga acara di dunia startup Indonesia. Jumat besok tanggal 27 Mei 2011 akan ada SparxUp Seminar yang diselenggarakan di University Club Universitas Gadjah Mada. Di waktu yang bersamaan juga ada launching Komuitas Startup GameDev Jogja – Gamelan di Potret Cafe, Taman Kuliner Condong Catur, Sleman. Kemudian hari Sabtu tanggal 28 Mei 2011 IDBYTE akan diselenggarakan di STIMIK AMIKOM Yogyakarta.

Untuk acara SparxUp, bulan maret lalu Seminar digelar di Jogja dengan tema “Technology Trends for Digital”. Sedangkan bulan ini SparxUp akan digelar dengan tema sama seperti sebelumnya yang digelar FOWAB beberapa waktu yang lalu, yaitu “Monetizing Mobile Advertising Era”. SparxUp di Jogja kali ini bekerja sama dengan Bancakan 2.0 dan dibantu rekan-rekan HIMAKOM.

SparxUp Seminar kali ini akan menghadirkan satu pembicara utama dan satu pembicara tamu sebagai perwakilan pemenang SparxUp Awards 2010.
