Koprol Versi Baru Segera Hadir

Startup yang pernah menjadi kebanggaan ekosistem digital Indonesia kembali bangkit dari “kuburnya”. Penghidupan kembali Koprol, menyusul penutupannya oleh Yahoo tanggal 28 Agustus lalu, ditandai dengan pembaruan situsnya — yang masih bisa diakses di Koprol.com. Belum ada info lengkap di situsnya, tetapi siapapun yang ingin menjadi beta tester untuk Koprol versi baru ini bisa men-tweet ke @koprol dan mengatakan kota mana yang ingin diwakilinya. Merk dagang dan nama domain Koprol sekarang, seperti yang diharapkan, diasosiasikan dengan Barito Labs yang didirikan oleh tiga pendiri Koprol.

New Koprol is Coming Soon

The startup that once became the pride of Indonesian digital ecosystem is coming back to life. The revival of Koprol, following the shutdown by Yahoo on August 28, is marked by its new revamped site — still accessible from the old Koprol.com. There’s no further update on the site yet, but anyone who would like to become beta tester for this new version of Koprol may tweet to @koprol by telling which town will he/she be representing to. The trademarks and domain names of Koprol is now, as expected, associated to Barito Labs, founded by three former Koprol co-founders.

Hari Terakhir Koprol

Kemarin, tanggal 27 Agustus adalah hari terakhir Koprol. Hari ini Yahoo! akan menutup layanan berbasis lokasi mereka yang dibeli bulan Mei 2010 sebagai bagian dari rencana mereka untuk memasuki pasar Indonesia dan mendirikan kantor di sini. Semua anggota tim yang sebelumnya mengerjakan Koprol telah meninggalkan Yahoo! setelah seluruh divisi teknis dan desain Yahoo Indonesia di-PHK bulan April, dan tim transisi yang tersisa akhirnya meninggalkan Yahoo! pada bulan Juni untuk kemudian membangun Ice House dan Barito Labs.

Koprol’s Last Day

August 27. It’s the last day of Koprol. Tomorrow Yahoo! will shut down the once popular location based service which it bought in May 2010 as part of the company’s proper entry into Indonesia and to establish an office in the country. None of the team members that built and ran Koprol are with the company anymore after the entire engineering and design division of Yahoo Indonesia was laid off in April and the remaining transition team left in June to build Ice House and Barito Labs.
