[EVENT] Industry Creative Festival 2012

Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry organizes Creative Product Show Competition 2012, named Industry Creative Festival (Increfest). The event takes the theme “Make Indonesian Creative Product’s Content the Host in Our Country” launched at Ambarukmo Hotel, Yogyakarta, March 29, 2012.

Increfest’s activities include software, animation and game competition where all competitions are open for startups (beginner company). Nominees that elected from final judging process will get a chance to attend a two nights business coaching. Winner will get not only cash prize but also attending a business matching in Taiwan with Ministry of Industry.

Imagine Cup Indonesia Announced 10 Semifinalists

Imagine Cup Indonesia announced the 10 semifinalists in the category of Software Design Competition. Four finalists will be selected out of the ten who will then compete again until a winner of Imagine Cup Indonesia 2012 is chosen.

The winner will represent Indonesia in the final round of Imagine Cup 2012 competition in Sydney, Australia, July 6-10, 2012.

Imagine Cup Indonesia Umumkan 10 Semifinalis

Imagine Cup Indonesia 2012 mengumumkan 10 semifinalis untuk kategori Software Design Competition. Dari kesepuluh semifinalis ini, akan dipilih 4 finalis yang kemudian akan dipertandingkan lagi hingga terpilih satu pemenang Imagine Cup Indonesia 2012.

Pemenang Imagine Cup Indonesia akan mewakili Indonesia dalam final kompetisi Imagine Cup 2012, yang digelar di Sidney, Australia, 6-10 Juli 2012.

[EVENT] Industry Creative Festival 2012

Kementrian Perindustrian menyelenggarakan Kompetisi Gelar Produk Kreatif 2012 yang diberi judul Industry Creative Festival (Increfest). Acara yang mempunyai tema “Jadikan Konten Produk Kreatif Indonesia, menjadi Tuan Rumah di Negeri Sendiri” tersebut di launching di Hotel Ambarukmo, Yogyakarta, 29 Maret 2012.

Kegiatan Increfest meliputi kompetisi software, kompetisi animasi dan kompetisi game. Semua kompetisi tersebut terbuka bagi startup (perusahaan pemula). Nominator yang terpilih mengikuti proses penjurian final akan mendapatkan kesempatan mengikuti coaching bussiness selama 2 malam. Untuk pemenang, selain akan mendapatkan uang tunai, juga akan memperoleh hadiah berupa bussiness matching ke Taiwan bersama Kementrian Perindustrian. Does Application Become RIM’s Investment Target in Indonesia?

One of the articles on Bisnis.com (in Indonesian) about RIM investment in Indonesia is caught my interest. We might know the “war” between Indonesian government and RIM becomes like soap opera with long episodes.

Many things keep our attention on it. One of them is the RIM investment. The article on Bisnis.com stated that RIM will propose the investment concept in November. This statement comes from Hatta Rajasa – Coordinating Minister for Economy. The investment (according to Bisnis.com) is about the software, not the hardware, and it might be about the development of research centre and application institute for global market. It will be done with the cooperation with technology institute in Indonesia (Bandung and Bali).

Aplikasi, Target Investasi RIM di Indonesia?

Salah satu artikel yang dimuat di Bisnis.com berkaitan dengan investasi RIM di Indonesia menarik perhatian saya. Seperti yang kita tahu, ‘pertikaian’ pemerintah dan RIM menjadi semacam sinetron yang episodenya cukup panjang.

Berbagai hal terus menjadi perhatian dan salah satunya adalah tentang investasi RIM. Artikel di Bisnis.com menyebutkan bahwa RIM akan mengajukan konsep investasi pada bulan November. Pernyataan ini dikeluarkan oleh Hatta Rajasa – Menteri Koordinator bidang Perekonomian. Investasi yang ada (saya kutip dari Bisnis.com) adalah soal software bukan hardware dan kemungkinan mengarah ke pengembangan riset center dan institut aplikasi untuk pasar dunia. Hal ini akan dijalankan melalui kerjasama dengan institut teknologi di Indonesia (Bandung dan Bali).

Berita ini mengingatkan saya pada acara Developer Day serta pertemuan singkat dengan perwakilan RIM di ITB beberapa waktu yang lalu. Dari wawancara bersama dengan rekan media yang lain, RIM yang diwakili oleh Johan Kremer dan Sarim Aziz mengungkapkan rencana RIM untuk merangkul developer serta kampus untuk membangun ekosistem, dan tentunya ini berujung pada pengembangan aplikasi bagi perangkat milik RIM.

Sutanto Hartono to resign as President Director of Microsoft Indonesia (Updated)

President Director and General Manager of Microsoft Indonesia, Sutanto Hartono, yesterday announced in a company meeting of his intention to resign from the company and return to the media industry.

Hartono, who joined the software giant in 2010 from television station RCTI where he served as CEO and Managing Director, will be leaving Microsoft Indonesia by the end of October after less than two years at the helm.

No replacement has been named but it is expected that a regional appointee will be taking the position temporarily.

Yes, Microsoft can confirm that Sutanto Hartono has decided to leave the company to pursue career opportunities outside of the information technology sector, effective at the end of October. During this time, he will be working with the Microsoft Indonesia’s senior leadership team to ensure that it is business as usual for our customers. We want to thank him for his nearly 2 years of leadership as Country Manager and wish him every success in his new role. Microsoft is looking to appoint his successor and will make a further announcement on this when appropriate.
