Update Windows 10 Mobile untuk Pengguna Windows Phone Ditunda Jadi Awal Tahun Depan

Sungguh malang nasib pengguna Windows Phone 8 maupun 8.1. Meski sebelumnya dikabarkan bahwa update Windows 10 Mobile versi RTM buat mereka sudah siap, rupanya Microsoft telah menunda perilisannya ke publik menjadi awal tahun depan.

Entah apa alasan pastinya, padahal sebelumnya Microsoft telah berjanji untuk meluncurkan update Windows 10 Mobile mulai bulan Desember ini. Hal itu berarti para pengguna WP8 dan 8.1 masih harus setia menunggu tanpa ada kepastian terkait kapan maupun perangkat apa saja yang bakal kebagian jatah update.

Yang lebih parah, Microsoft tak lagi menyebutkan secara spesifik bulan perilisannya. “Awal tahun depan” bisa diartikan kuartal pertama tahun 2016. Jadi bisa saja di bulan Januari, Februari atau Maret, lagi-lagi tidak ada kepastian.

Salah satu opsi terbaik memang membeli Lumia 950 yang baru saja diluncurkan. Tapi jangan salahkan pengguna WP8 dan 8.1 yang menunggu, karena Microsoft sendiri yang memberikan janji dan harapan bagi mereka.

Opsi lain adalah bergabung dalam program Windows Insider, dimana Anda akan kebagian jatah update lebih awal dengan tujuan menguji stabilitasnya dalam konteks sehari-hari. Terlepas dari itu, ini tetap merupakan kabar mengecewakan buat pengguna setia Windows Phone yang masih bertahan dengan perangkat lamanya.

So Microsoft decided that the Indonesian Windows Phone Store (WP Store) should not be populated by Twitter apps. It also decided that Indonesians shouldn’t be blogging using the official WordPress app, nor can we use IMDB to look up details about movies and TV series. We also can’t watch nor upload videos on Vimeo and we’re not supposed to update our Tumblr-hosted blogs using Windows Phone. What do we do? Aside from using an iOS or Android device, we can use the Windows Phone Store meant for Americans.

Microsoft Indonesia Cripples Windows Phone By Blocking Twitter Apps and Other Popular Services

Microsoft is counting on Windows Phone to put it back in the race for mobile computing supremacy and it’s relying on partners like Nokia and HTC to deliver the best phones possible to get people to use Windows Phone. It has also pushed developers and companies to make their apps available on the platform. Unfortunately this desire hasn’t seemed to reach the minds of the people at Microsoft Indonesia because many significant apps are not available to download in the Indonesian Windows Phone Store.

Blue Bird App for Windows Phone Is Out, Exclusive to Nokia? Not Really

When Nokia held the launch of the Lumia 920 in Jakarta in November, it showed off the long awaited Blue Bird taxi reservation app. The app was finally available on the Windows Phone Store on Saturday, the day Nokia made the Lumia 920 and 820 available for purchase on retail stores, including its own, across Indonesia. Given the maturity of the app on Android, BlackBerry and iOS, there’s plenty to expect from the Windows Phone version.

Windows Phone 8 SDK is Now Available to Download

At the Windows Phone 8 launch yesterday Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore promised everyone that the Windows Phone 8 software development kit will be available at the start of build, the company’s developer conference. Sure enough, the SDK is now available to download from Microsoft. The event has kicked off and developers are set to dig in.

Windows Phone 8 Officially Launched, SDK Available Tomorrow

Microsoft officially released Windows Phone 8 last night. The company’s next generation mobile operating system is expected to accompany those who make the move to Windows 8 and capture a market of people who are looking for something new, something different. The event was headed by Joe Belfiore who heads the company’s mobile division before CEO Steve Ballmer came on stage to wrap up the event. Microsoft itself announced a number of major features in Windows Phone 8 back in June.
