Zalora Indonesia On Track for Record Group Revenue

We spoke to Zalora Indonesia co-founder and CEO Hadi Wenas earlier this week about the company’s growth, performance, and plans. Having completed the first year of operations, Zalora Indonesia has just recorded its best revenue since it was launched in February 2012. The company, which is officially known as PT Fashion Eservices Indonesia, is also receiving orders in greater numbers from outside of the capital city and will be introducing new services in the coming months.

The Very Hungry Tech in Asia Just Gobbled Indonesian Mobile Game Blog GameSaku

Tech in Asia is on an aggressive roll following its round of funding from IMJ Fenox VC recently. After having swallowed Singapore based blog SGE, today it officially announced its acquisition of Indonesian mobile gaming blog GameSaku from Apps Foundry. The Singapore-based tech blog is kickstarting a new property covering the games industry in the region and it will build the new blog from this acquisition.

The Demise of Fitness Social Network Sixreps Gives Rise to Beautiplan As Co-Founders Pivot

Fitness site Sixreps was one of the more celebrated Indonesian social networks when it launched at the end of 2010 and when it was on track to receive a significant US partnership in 2011, the local scene expected some success out of it but unfortunately it didn’t work out (ahem). After freezing Sixreps earlier this year, its ever entrepreneurial co-founders Denny Santoso and Sanny Gaddafi decided to shut it down at the end of August. Given the significant challenges in pushing Sixreps, the co-founders turned their attention to another industry and worked on Beautiplan, a site for people to share their make up and beauty tips.

SGE’s Gwendolyn Tan on Joining Tech in Asia and Her Views on Startups in the Region

As we reported earlier today, Singapore-based tech blog SGE has been acquired by relative newcomer Tech in Asia following its recent round of investment from IMJ Fenox. The acquisition value is undisclosed but SGE’s two key people will be joining Tech in Asia and the door is also open for SGE’s contributors. We had a little chat with SGE’s Gwendolyn Regina Tan about the acquisition and how the region has developed since she started SGE in 2005.

Tech in Asia Acquires Singapore Startup Blog SGE

Asia’s technology blogging space has been snowballing and with the arrival of International blogs such as TheNextWeb and TechCrunch into the region, competition has been getting quite fierce. Private social network Path announced today that it is launching a premium subscription service alongside the ability to share posts to a private group of friends, as well as a private channel through Path 3.2. It has also partnered with Deutsche Telekom to offer its customers free access to all of Path’s extra features for a year.
