Platform Komputasi Awan Azure Kini Miliki Lebih Dari 4 Triliun Obyek

Microsoft baru-baru ini menyatakan bahwa produk cloud miliknya, Azure, saat ini menyimpan lebih dari 4 trilium obyek, naik 4 kali lipat dibandingkan dengan tahun lalu.

Platform Azure milik Microsoft ini menerima rata-rata 27 ribu permintaan layanan tiap detik, dan bahkan di bulan-bulan tertentu angka ini melonjak hingga 880 ribu permintaan layanan tiap detik. Jumlah ini juga naik 3 kali lipat satu tahun belakangan ini. Hal ini bisa jadi dikarenakan langkah Microsoft untuk menurunkan harga hingga 10 kali lipat bulan Juni lalu.

Angka ini membuat Microsoft sangat optimis untuk bisa mengalahkan pesaing terberatnya Amazon S3, yang sampai saat ini memiliki lebih dari 900 miliar obyek, bertumbuh 1 milyar obyek tiap harinya dengan rata-rata permintaan layanan 650 ribu per detik.

Profitlook, Aplikasi Akutansi Berbasis Komputasi Awan untuk UMKM

Layanan cloud, tidak hanya dihadirkan oleh perusahaan besar semacam XL Axiata, Telkom dan Lintas Arta. Sebuah startup bernama Profitech Indonesia juga berusaha menghadirkan layanan komputasi awan terutama untuk pemilik usaha mikro kecil dan menengah (UMKM). Profitech menghadirkan layanan Software as a Service (SaaS) dalam bentuk sebuah sistem akutansi berbasis komputasi awan yang diberi nama Profitlook.

Profitech Indonesia didirikan sejak tahun 2011 yang lalu. Profitlook, kini sudah bisa dinikmati versi demonya. Rachman Amir, founder Profitlook dalam wawancara melalui email mengatakan bahwa secara umum pihaknya mentargetkan pemilik UMKM sebagai target pengguna Profitlook. Fitur-fitur Profitlook telah disesuaikan dengan bidang usaha seperti dealer mobil atau motor, minimarket, toko kecil, bengkel, salon, rumah makan, industri kerajinan, dan berbagai usaha sejenis lainnya. CloudIndonesiA, Community for Cloud Computing Learning

CloudIndonesiA, an independent cloud computing community established two weeks ago. In contrast to Indonesia Forum of Cloud Computing Association – Asosiasi Forum Komputasi Awan Indonesia (AFKAI) declared by Indonesian Cloud Forum. CloudIndonesiA’s member is more to people who want variety and learn together about cloud computing.

CloudIndonesiA community begins with Cloud-Indonesia mailing list set up by Alex Budiyanto on April 23, 2012. Alex then took the initiative to create a community portal and invite people to contribute. Currently about 30 people are helping to raise the community.

Alex Budiyanto, contacted via email, said that the community was formed as a medium for sharing knowledge about cloud computing and trying to positively contribute to the nation in this field. Cloud computing knowledge sharing media in Indonesia, according to Alex, is still so few so he feels the need for a special place to accommodate a wide range of resources about cloud computing.

Apakah Google Drive Layak Untuk Digunakan?

Google akhirnya merilis Google Drive, layanan penyimpanan file online yang telah lama ditunggu, kurang lebih enam tahun sejak rumor tentang layanan ini muncul. Tetapi jangan menyebutnya demikian, karena Google SVP of Chrome dan Apps, Sundar Pichai membenci file dan manajemen file. Faktanya, dia adalah orang yang mematikan proyek Google Drive awal yang dinamakan GDrive beberapa tahun lalu.

Dalam sebuah wawancara dengan AllThingsD, Sundar merujuk pada “living your life online” untuk menggambarkan Google Drive, apapun artinya itu. Terlepas dari apa yang Sundar percayai, mayoritas pengguna Drive akan memahami bahwa Google Drive adalah sebuah tempat untuk menyimpan file mereka secara online. Apakah layanan ini mempersilahkan Anda menyimpan file? Apakah Anda bisa mengatur folder? Apakah memungkinkan untuk menambah, memindahkan, dan mengolah file Anda? Jawabannya ya, ditambah pula Google Drive akan mensinkronisasikan kontennya dengan folder yang telah ditentukan pada komputer Anda.

Is Google Drive Even Worth Using?

Google has finally released Google Drive, the long awaited online file storage service that had been rumored for six years. But don’t call it that, because Google SVP of Chrome and Apps, Sundar Pichai, hates files and file management. In fact, he was the one who killed the original Google Drive project, dubbed GDrive, several years ago.

In an interview with AllThingsD, Pichai refers to Google Drive as “living your life online”, whatever that means. Regardless of what he believes, the majority of Drive users will understand it as a place to store your files online. Does it let you place files in it? Does it let you organize them into folders? Does it let you add, remove, and modify your files? Yes, yes, and yes, plus, Google Drive synchronizes its content with that of the corresponding folders on your computer.

Google Drive gives you 5GB of space for free which is integrated with Google Docs. If you haven’t got 5GB in your Docs storage now instead of the usual 1GB, you will eventually. You’ll also be able to purchase additional storage for a monthly fee as soon as Drive is available for your Google account. The company is rolling Drive out to all Gmail users over the next several days.

Google Finally Introduces Google Drive

The mythical Google product has finally materialized into actual existence. Google Drive is a cloud service that provides an online storage space to store all of your files. From photos, videos, documents, PDF, or anything for that matter, they can be placed on Google Drive. Rumors about Google Drive had been circulating for years and finally Google saw fit to release it now.

This is Google’s entry to the crowded cloud competition in the consumer space which currently is being led by Dropbox, followed by Microsoft’s SkyDrive. Not to mention Apple’s iCloud. Interestingly, Microsoft has just recently updated the pricing plan and offering for SkyDrive.
