[EVENT] Industry Creative Festival 2012

Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry organizes Creative Product Show Competition 2012, named Industry Creative Festival (Increfest). The event takes the theme “Make Indonesian Creative Product’s Content the Host in Our Country” launched at Ambarukmo Hotel, Yogyakarta, March 29, 2012.

Increfest’s activities include software, animation and game competition where all competitions are open for startups (beginner company). Nominees that elected from final judging process will get a chance to attend a two nights business coaching. Winner will get not only cash prize but also attending a business matching in Taiwan with Ministry of Industry.

Imagine Cup Indonesia Announced 10 Semifinalists

Imagine Cup Indonesia announced the 10 semifinalists in the category of Software Design Competition. Four finalists will be selected out of the ten who will then compete again until a winner of Imagine Cup Indonesia 2012 is chosen.

The winner will represent Indonesia in the final round of Imagine Cup 2012 competition in Sydney, Australia, July 6-10, 2012.

Sulis, Dwarapala and Ratimaya Are Chosen to Enter GIST’s ‘I Dare’ Business Competition Semifinal Round

Three participants from Indonesia made it into the semifinal round of the competition held by Global Innovation Through Science & Technology (GIST), they were invited to participatd in a workshop in Abu Dhabi, on March 18 -19, 2012.

As written by e27, the three participants from Indonesia are the Sulis, Dwarapala and Ratimaya. Sulis – SusuListrik (electrical milk) is a high voltage electric shock milk pasteurization device that can kill bacteria in the milk without damaging the content of the milk. This technology can extend the life of milk. While Dwarapala is a hosted e-commerce solution service which provides facility for those who want to sell or own an online store in easy way. Ratimaya is a service that facilitates the local fashion brands – Indonesia, to sell their products online. Local fashion products include apparel, accessories and shoes.

iMulai 4.0, IT Business Innovation Competition for Indonesian Innovators

iMulai, a national business innovation competition sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Microsoft Indonesia, has been reopened. Through a news release, USAID and Microsoft Indonesia invite new companies and innovators in Indonesia to attend the competition in its fourth year of implementation.

The competition is in the form of business innovation competition. Participants may be individuals or companies who have an information and communication technology based idea or prototype or business innovation that commercially run. Types of innovation can be a business application that runs n desktop, web and mobile.

About Bintang Sekolah, Lenovo Do Network Competition Winner

Lenovo Do Network Competition, an innovator competition organized by Lenovo Indonesia, gave birth to a software named Bintang Sekolah as the winner. Of the 10 finalists, Bintang Sekolah got the most votes, a total of 166.150 votes. On its victory, Bintang Sekolah, made by Nizar Luthfiansyah, is entitled to US$25,500 prize.

In his description on Bintang Sekolah on the competition page, Nizar describes Bintang Sekolah as a portable school which provides a learning atmosphere of a school in the form of 2D and 3D animation. Bintang Sekolah has several features such as teacher’s presentation video, virtual library, teaching material simulation, educational games to classroom test. The materials inside it are based on Department of Education’s curriculum and provided by the best teachers from Indonesia’s leading schools.

In an interview via email, Nizar said that Bintang Sekolah is designed not only to address student’s difficulty in finding learning materials, particularly students in remote areas or non-seeded schools. Bintang Sekolah is also designed for benefitting teachers in everyday learning activities so those activities become more exciting for the students.

Do Network, Online platform from Lenovo to Change Idea becoming Reality

Last Saturday, Lenovo held a media briefing to explain the program that it’s currently running; to create Indonesian “Doers” which can actualize their various ideas. This program is a competition called “Do Network”.

The registration of this completion has been actually opening since 8th of Dec, 2011 and until last Saturday more than 214 participants have registered.

Lenovo Do Network is basically a competition to collect the ideas, prototype, or the basic product from the participants correspond to various challenges that are given in every round. Apart from that this program is intended to create an online platform for actualizing the ideas; You can be a project leader, team member, voter, which later there would be 3 (three) mentors who can assist the process of developing the idea. This competition will be running in 4 (four) rounds, each round – 90 days consists of the various challenges.

Here are the Winners of Komodo Apps Challenge

While Indonesian citizens are busy with the pro and contra on Komodo and New7Wonder issue, there is an event took Komodo as its theme. It took the spirit of knowing more about Komodo as the endangered animals which can be found only in Indonesia. The competition was held by the Ministry of Tourism (which now becomes the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy) and the Marketeers magazine, Komodo Apps Challenge was held to challenge local developers.

The registered apps will also be exhibited at Komodo Night event in Chicago and Sydney. This event is aimed to get more attention and global visitors. There were three platforms for the competition bases; they are BlackBerry, iOS, and Android. The judging was based on the implementation of the idea and the marketability potential.

Here It Comes Again: Asia’s Top 50 Apps

The awards for application in Asia, Asia’s Top 50 Apps, comes and opens chances for application (web-mobile) based in Asia to send their application to join the first step of the event.

As what happened last year, in the first stage, the participants can do online register or nominate their favorite application here and let the visitor of the site to vote the submitted application.

From the information received by DailySocial, Asia’s Top 50 Apps 2011 is an award for web and mobile application innovation and for building the awareness of developers about their application. This event is held by SingTel Innovation Exchange which is a part of Accelerate@TechVenture and organized by e27.

The event of conference and the awarding will be on October 14th 2011 in the same time with the Accelerate@TechVenture Forum. The coming event will be the second annual event.
