HootSuite Starts to Pay Attention to Indonesian Users

It’s been a long time since I wrote about HootSuite, one of the social media dashboard to be used to watch, post, and see the statistics data from social networks including Twitter, Facebook, and Facebook Pages, LindkedIn and Foursquare.

Personally, I use HootSuite since a long time ago and now I use the pro account (paid account). Although I also use other services like TweetDeck or Seesmic and some other services.

Lately, I received email from one of HootSuite staffs, Stephanie Wirihardja who works at Marketing Department, and works on Indonesia Community (to cooperate with social media users in Indonesia) also some translate for HootSuite from various applications. HootSuite is based in Vancouver, canada.

Event Report: BlackBerry Developer Day and KIAD Competition

BlackBerry Developer Day: RIM’s Support for Developer and Approach to Universities in Indonesia

BlackBerry Developer Day was held yesterday in ITB, Bandung. It was the first developer day Research In Motion (RIM) held in university in Indonesia. RIM held several events previously in Indonesia to attract developers in developing application for their platform. I and several other friends had the opportunity to have light discussion with Johan Kremer, Head of Alliances for SEA, Research In Motion (Singapore) Pte Ltd and Sarim Aziz – Senior Application Development.

For me smartphone/tablet is all about application. There are more functions or features, but without application smartphone/tablet will not be maximized, and when talking about application that means we will talk about application store and eventually the talking will get to application developers and for RIM, with BlackBerry PlayBook on the market application is getting more and more important.

RIM’s approach by having events in universities is quite interesting. I’d like to remind you of the 2nd Bandung Ventures Night (BVN) held at ITB, they are also targeting entrepreneur side (like application developing studio) working together with popular platform like Android and RIM with its BlackBerry.

Bistip: Investment, New Facility and Strategy

DailySocial have written about startups invested by InvestIdeaKartumuu, Whuzz.net dan Bistip. For Bistip, before the investment news reached our editorial team they have renewed some of their services. The renewal includes some changes on their UI, and some things related to their facility such as using RekeningBersama for payment method for Bistipers, forum, influencer, trending items, and most active routes.

Several features above in my opinion is worth developing by Bistip as online service for a web-based courier service that provides facilities for those who wish to entrust their items or have items entrusted to them for delivery purposes for a fee. These several new facilities can be useful for their users and maintain relationship with users. Influencer for example is a mediator facility for those who entrust their items and those who was entrusted. And for Forum, facility asked by Bistipers, can be main source for information and facility for discussion.

Reviewing the Promotion and Monetization Strategies of Sixreps.com

Since its emergence, Sixreps.com continues to grow, both from members and from the developments relating to the introduction of this service to the public. DailySocial first wrote about SixReps in early October while it still in the introduction and not open to the public yet. One thing which for me should be underlined is the CEO of this service and niche segments they’re targeting.

SixReps implemented strategies to create a niche social networking, with a special segment of sports fans – fitness. Although it can be used by all people, but various features and facilities that exist in SixReps are optimizing fitness fans users. Denny Santoso (founder and CEO of SixReps) also mastered the field of fitness, because of his background as a CEO of Ultimate Nutrition Indonesia. It’s a mix that can support each other.
