Pemkot Bandung Akan Sediakan Hotspot Hingga ke Tingkat RW

Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) Bandung tidak mau kalah dengan Pemkot Surakarta dan Pemkot Yogyakarta dalam hal penyediaan akses internet bagi warganya. Oktober tahun lalu, Pemkot Solo menyediakan 40 hotzone sepanjang 10 km. Hal itu disusul oleh Pemkot Yogyakarta yang menyediakan layanan hotspot di seluruh kelurahan mulai tahun 2012 ini. Kini Pemkot Bandung membawa layanan akses internet ini ke level baru dengan menyediakan hotspot hingga ke tingkat Rukun Warga (RW).

Sebanyak 1.563 RW di seluruh wilayah kota Bandung akan segera mendapatkan fasilitas hotspot secara cuma-cuma. Akses internet ini akan segera dapat dinikmati pada bulan Oktober tahun ini. Program ini diselenggarakan oleh Pemkot Bandung bekerja sama dengan PT. Telkom.

[Video] MozKopdar Event in Bandung Introduces Boot to Gecko

Last weekend, id-Mozilla held a meet up event of MozKopdar Bandung, which is the first MozKopdar event held in Bandung. In addition to Bandung, this event was also held in other cities such as Jakarta and Bekasi.

MozKopdar Bandung took venue at Potluck Kitchen starting at 11 AM. This meet up event, as described by Fauzan Alfi – MozReps, was filled by introduction of Mozilla Student Reps as well as other various events such L10n Sprint or translating Firefox browser into local languages namely Bahasa Indonesia and Sundanese. The event was also filled by the announcement of the latest information on various Mozilla projects.

MozKopdar Bandung was also attended by Arky, Community Manager for Localization (L10n) Asia, who was present to help the translation process from the technical side as well as introducing Boot to Gecko (B2G), which is an open source operating system for mobile devices from Mozilla. Other information about B2G can be seen here and here. Moreover, Arky also explained the various processes and essential stages that can be done by those who are interested to help in the Firefox browser translation project.

Boot to Gecko Diperkenalkan Pada Acara MozKopdar di Bandung [Video]

Hari minggu kemarin, id-Mozilla mengadakan acara meetup berupa MozKopdar Bandung, yang merupakan acara MozKopdar pertama yang diadakan di Bandung. Selain kota Bandung acara ini juga diadakan di kota lain seperti Jakarta dan Bekasi.

MozKopdar Bandung diadakan di Potluck Kitchen, mulai pukul 11 siang. Dalam acara meetup kali ini, seperti yang dijelaskan oleh Fauzan Alfi – MozReps – diisi oleh perkenalan Mozilla Student Reps serta berbagai acara lain seperti L10n Sprint atau penerjemahan peramban Firefox ke bahasa lokal yaitu ke Indonesia dan bahasa Sunda. Acara juga diisi oleh pengumuman informasi terbaru tentang berbagai proyek Mozilla.

MozKopdar Bandung ini juga dihadiri oleh Arky, Community Manager for Localization (L10n) Asia, yang hadir membantu proses penerjemahan dari sisi teknis serta memperkenalkan Boot to Gecko (B2G), yang merupakan sistem operasi open source untuk perangkat mobile dari Mozilla. Selain itu Arky juga menjelaskan berbagai proses dan tahap penting yang bisa dilakukan oleh mereka yang tertarik untuk membantu proyek translasi peramban Firefox.

Bandung Digital Valley Looking for Startups to be Incubated

Bandung Digital Valley (BDV) opens enrollment for startups to join as candidates for Incubation Tenant Batch 1. This opportunity is open for startup that already has a business entity (incorporated), or a new form of team that does not have a business entity, provided it is not individuals. Registration is open since last Friday to April 1.

Startup that is elected as tenant will get a 6-month incubation period of training that focuses on aspects of business development. This business development training covers seven areas, namely Entrepreneurship, Business Model, Finance, Management, Commercial, Product Management and Strategy. In addition to business development, tenant will also receive talent development training in the form of technical training by experts, especially related technology required by tenant.

Bandung Digital Valley Mencari Startup Untuk Diinkubasi

Bandung Digital Valley (BDV) membuka pendaftaran bagi startup untuk menjadi calon Tenant Inkubasi Angkatan I. Kesempatan ini dibuka baik untuk startup yang telah memiliki badan usaha, maupun yang baru berupa tim yang belum memiliki badan usaha, asalkan bukan individu. Pendaftaran dibuka sejak Jumat lalu sampai dengan 1 April mendatang.

Startup yang terpilih menjadi tenant akan mendapatkan pelatihan berupa 6 bulan inkubasi yang menitikberatkan pada aspek business development. Pelatihan business development ini meliputi 7 bidang yaitu Entrepreneurship, Business Model, Finance, Management, Commercial, Product Management dan Strategy. Selain business development, tenant juga akan mendapatkan pelatihan talent development, yang berupa pelatihan-pelatihan teknis oleh para pakar di bidangnya, khususnya terkait teknologi yang dibutuhkan oleh para tenant.

Event Report: Gedebuk – Game Developer Buka-bukaan (Game Developer Reveals) [Video] – Updated

Last weekend, visitors of Bandung Indah Plaza (BIP) were presented with a display and exhibition of local games as part of Gedebuk – Game Developer Buka-bukaan (Game Developer Reveals).

This event is the result of a collaboration between ~~BIP~~ Gedebuk community and Agate Studio as the initiators of Gedebuk. The event was held on March 17-18, 2012 at Bandung Indah Plaza (BIP).

The agenda includes exhibitions from a couple of local game developers’ work – on display via video presentations and banners on main venue and around the mall, as well as several gaming facilities which can be played by guests; there are card games and board games as well as several mobile and PC games made by Agate. Visitors can also get information about games – the process of game making, especially games made both by Agate as well as other local game developers.

Event Report: Gedebuk – Game Developer Buka-bukaan [Video] – Updated

Weekend kemarin, pengunjung Bandung Indah Plaza (BIP) disuguhkan oleh pameran serta eksebisi dari game lokal dalam acara Gedebuk – Game Developer Buka-bukaan.

~~Acara Gedebuk~~ Acara Gedebuk di mall yang diselenggarakan kemarin ini adalah acara hasil kerja sama antara ~~BIP~~ komunitas Gedebuk dan Agate Studio yang merupakan inisiator dari Gedebuk. Acara ini diadakan pada tanggal 17-18 Maret 2012 kemarin di Bandung Indah Plaza (BIP).

Acaranya meliputi pameran dari berberapa game hasil karya developer lokal – yang dipamerkan via presentasi video serta banner baik di venue utama maupun sekitaran mall, serta beberapa fasilitas permainan yang bisa dimainkan pengunjung, ada cardgame dan boardgame serta beberapa game mobile dan PC buatan Agate. Pengunjung juga bisa mendapatkan informasi seputar game – proses pembuatan game, terutama game buatan developer lokal baik dari Agate maupun dari developer lain.

Coming Soon, “GeekFest: Celebrate the New Rock Stars!”

Last Thursday, FOWAB and Kibar Kreasi officially announced GeekFest: Celebrate the New Rock Stars! The event was announced at a press conference at the SAE Institute, fX Lifestyle X’nter, Jakarta.

GeekFest is a festival that combines music, movies, games, and multimedia technology. GeekFest also aims to raise Indonesian youngsters creative work related to technology and the people behind the scenes of the work or product.

The event will be held on 31st March 2012- 1st April 2012 at the Sasana Budaya Ganesha in Bandung. The event will invite various communities in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Malang.

Performers who will be present on the stage include, among others, Jogja Hiphop Foundation, Bottlesmoker, Windyasari, Openlabs, Hellomotion, Saung Angklung Udjo, Hebring (Main Studios), Pet Shop Box, Homogenic, Ableton Live User Group Indonesia, Project Breed, Fat Pupa, Jogjaforce, iPhonesia, Movieholic, Indie Research, Photon Project and Midi Data .

Segera Hadir, “GeekFest: Celebrate the New Rock Stars!”

FOWAB dan Kibar Kreasi, hari ~~ini~~ Kamis kemarin mengumumkan secara resmi gelaran acara yang diberi nama GeekFest: Celebrate the New Rock Stars! Pengumuman resmi ini dilaksanakan melalui acara konferensi pers di SAE Institute, fX Senayan, Jakarta.

GeekFest sendiri merupakan sebuah festival yang mengkolaborasikan musik, ~~film~~ video, game dan mutimedia ke dalam sebuah wadah teknologi. GeekFest bertujuan juga untuk mengangkat karya kreativitas anak muda Indonesa yang berkaitan dengan teknologi serta orang dibalik layar dari karya atau produk tersebut.

Acara ini akan diselenggarakan pada tanggal tanggal 31 Maret 2012 – 1 April 2012 di Sasana Budaya Ganesha, Bandung. Acara ini mengajak berbagai komunitas seperti di Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya dan Malang. Notes on IDOC 2012: Discussion On Challenges, Success Stories and Development Potentials on iOS

ID-ObjectiveConference 2012 (IDOC 2012) had concluded a while ago but there was an interesting discussion that I wanted to note from the sharing session at the event.

IDOC 2012 conference was intended for developers who want to develop applications in iOS ecosystem and for those who are interested in the iOS development. The event’s title is “Getting Started with iOS development” and is intended as an initial stage and the introduction for the participants (some participants are the developers).

In addition, there were technical materials submitted by the speakers (you can view the complete coverage of the event here or here). During the discussion session, the panelists spoke about the business aspects of application development.

The panelists were by R. Ayu Maulidina I (STI), Andri Yadi (Dycode), Aulia Masna (DailySocial), Noor Muhammad Sumyandityo (Guava Games), Finan Akbar (Beetlebox) and Anton Soeharyo (Touch Ten), moderated by Rama Mamuaya, founder of DailySocial.
