Last April, Nokia held Nokia Lumia Apps on Demand. The competition invited idea submissions from users and chose the best one to then be presented as a challenge to developers to transform the idea into an app. Three best ideas from the users were announced last Friday on Nokia’s Facebook page.

Update Nokia Drive Untuk Ponsel Lumia Bantu Pengguna Hindari Kemacetan

Nokia mengumumkan update pada layanan Nokia Drive mereka untuk Windows Phone. Dalam update ini ada beberapa fitur yang menarik untuk dilihat.

Salah satu fitur yang paling menarik bernama My Commute. Fitur ini akan memudahkan pengguna Nokia Drive untuk terhindar dari macet karena akan mempelajari rute yang biasa dipilih oleh pangguna atas tujuan rutin mereka. Pilihan rute ini akan ditambahkan dengan informasi tentang data lalu lintas terkini yang bisa membantu pengguna untuk melakukan pilihan jalur. Bahkan fitur ini bisa mengingat kapan Anda biasa pergi dan memberikan informasi baru tentang lalu lintas di rute yang Anda pilih, jadi Anda bisa mengukur apakah Anda punya waktu senggang atau harus segera sampai di tujuan.

Sayangnya fitur ini baru tersedia di US, Nokia mengatakan bahwa akan juga merilis fitur ini di negara lain, namun mereka membutuhkan informasi data yang cukup sebelum melakukannya.

Selain fitur My Commute, update dari Nokia Drive untuk Windows Phone juga menyertakan update yang bisa secara otomatis mengatur display dari Nokia Drive. Nantinya Nokia Drive akan secara otomatis mengatur terang atau gelap untuk tampilan yang lebih baik.

Satu lagi yang menyertai update adalah fitur untuk melakukan pin dari lokasi favorit Anda. Ini adalah fitur yang paling banyak diminta oleh pengguna. Kini Anda bisa mengakses lebih cepat lokasi favorit.

Update Nokia Drive tersedia untuk pengguna Windows Phone, termasuk seri Lumia, 610, 710, 800 dan 900. Windows Phone Marketplace akan memberikan notifikasi ketika ada update.

Nokia is Back With Lumia Windows Phone Developer Day

After the success of Nokia Lumia Developer Day in Bandung in early February, Nokia is organizing another developer day. This time, cooperating with Microsoft and Microsoft Innovation Center, University of Indonesia (MIC UI), Nokia will be holding Lumia Windows Phone Developer Day at the hall of Faculty of Computer Science of University of Indonesia on April 28-29, 2012.

Unlike the event in Bandung which was more like a battlefield for developers to compete to prove themselves as the best in developing applications for Windows Phone, it seems that this event is more of a training ground. Participants will be guided to develop applications for Windows Phone operating system. The workshop will be led by Puja Pramudya – Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Device Application Development.

Nokia Kembali Adakan Lumia Windows Phone Developer Day

Setelah sukses dengan acara Nokia Lumia Developer Day yang diadakan di Bandung awal Februari yang lalu, Nokia kembali menyelenggarakan acara Developer Day. Kali ini bersama dengan Microsoft dan Microsoft Innovation Center Universitas Indonesia (MIC UI), Nokia mengadakan Lumia Windows Phone Developer Day. Acara ini akan diadakan di Aula Fakultas Ilmu Komputer UI pada tanggal 28 dan 29 April 2012 mendatang.

Berbeda dengan acara di Bandung yang merupakan bagai “medan perang” bagi para developer untuk saling bersaing membuktikan diri sebagai yang terbaik dalam mengembangkan aplikasi untuk Windows Phone, sepertinya acara ini lebih kepada sebuah “tempat latihan”. Peserta akan dibimbing untuk mengembangkan aplikasi untuk sistem operasi Windows Phone. [EVENT] Movend WP7 Challenge Offers Lumia Phones as Prizes

In a collaboration with Nokia, Movend held Movend WP7 Challenge competition. The competition is looking for stylish and innovative Windows Phone applications. Participants who enter the competition get the chance to win prizes worth a total of $2000 which consist of 3 Nokia Lumia 800 and 2 Nokia Lumia 710.

Movend WP7 Challenge is open for application developers in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Application submitted for the competition must be completely new, not yet listed on Windows Marketplace, as well as on any other application market. The application must use Movend’s Software Development Kit (SDK).

Before submitting the apps, developers must make sure that the apps have been tested and work properly. Although the competition does not require participants to register their apps to Windows Marketplace, the winning application must be registered to Windows Marketplace.

Windows Phone Marketplace Indonesia Sudah Resmi Go Live

Bertepatan dengan peluncuran jajaran Nokia Lumia hari ini, Windows Phone Marketplace Indonesia secara resmi go live. Selain diakses langsung melalui smartphone Windows Phone (dengan memilih region Indonesia terlebih dahulu), kita bisa melihat-lihat aplikasi apa saja yang sudah ada di Marketplace ini melalui situsnya, baik untuk aplikasi maupun permainan. Halaman frontpage-nya sendiri masih belum murni ditranslasi dari basisnya yang berbahasa Spanyol.

Saya sempat mencoba menggunakan Marketplace Indonesia beberapa waktu yang lalu saat preview Lumia untuk kalangan terbatas tapi kebanyakan aplikasi masih belum tersedia, termasuk jajaran aplikasi populer macam Twitter, Facebook ataupun Foursquare. Seharusnya sekarang semua pemilik ponsel Windows Phone sudah bisa menggunakan aplikasi dan permainan dengan mudah di region Indonesia ini. Untuk aplikasi berbayar, saat ini pembayaran bisa dilakukan melalui kartu kredit. Semoga di masa datang akan ada kerjasama supaya bisa menggunakan operator billing sebagai metode pembayaran.

Nokia Asia Tenggara Tawarkan Ponsel Lumia untuk Lebih Banyak Pengembang Indonesia

Di tengah kegembiraan acara yang memecahkan rekor Windows Phone hackathon selama akhir pekan di Bandung kemarin, ada satu berita yang mungkin tidak diperhatikan oleh beberapa orang. Kami sebenarnya menuliskan berita ini di artikel rekap tentang acara tersebut, namun setelah mendapatkan beberapa detail lain, berita ini kami pikir layak untuk dijadikan artikel tersendiri.

Pada akhir acara Nokia Lumia Developer Day di Bandung hari Minggu kemarin, Narenda Wicaksono, Developer Outreach Manager untuk Nokia Asia Tenggara melemparkan tantangan bagi para pengembang aplikasi mobile di seluruh Indonesia. Tantangan ini berupa Lumia Apps Challenge yang membuka kesempatan bagi para pengembang yang tidak menghadiri acara developer day kemarin untuk ikut berpartisipasi dan mencoba peruntungan mendapatkan Nokia Lumia 710.

Sebagai persyaratannya, pengembang dipersilahkan untuk membuat sebuah prototipe aplikasi menggunakan SDK Windows Phone, kemudian mendaftarkan diri dan mempublikasikan deskripsi dan screenshot dari aplikasi tersebut di situs Nokia Indonesia Community (Nice.co.id) sebelum tanggal 31 Maret.

Nokia Lumia Developer Day: 173 Apps, 8 Winners

Nokia Lumia Developer Day event from 4th – 5th February 2012 have been completed. The event attended by more than 800 participants from various regions of Indonesia.

This event was held by Nokia and Microsoft to welcome the official presence of Nokia Lumia 800 and 710. It was an event for the ecosystem development in Windows Phone platform (the application).

Yesterday event was quite interesting; especially for coding business – beyond the material – it started at 7 pm until morning. I don’t know for sure if the amount of contestants in the last 24 hours is the same with those who have followed the seminar from morning until afternoon, but there was no significant change in terms of number. Almost all seats are filled and the participants follow this coding event for more than 15 hours until the next morning.

According to the organizers, there are about 173 applications at the coding closing session and the applications submission. From these 173 applications, only 21 were selected. At the end, 8 applications (chosen by Narenda Wicaksono, Coach Co-ordinator and Irving Hutagalung) were qualified as the winner and got one Lumia phone 800 each.

An Interview with Irving Hutagalung About Windows Phone Marketplace, The Application Availability and The Developer Day Event

In between the Nokia Lumia Developer Day, DailySocial has the opportunity to meet Irving Hutagalung (an Marketing Manager-Developer and Platform Group Microsoft Indonesia) and talked about various things, including marketplace for Indonesia’s customers as well as the preparation for Windows Phone platform application availability, the purchase of application and some other things related to the ecosystem for Windows Phone.

Nokia Lumia Developer Day was held on 4th – 5th February 2012. The event was attended by more than 800 participants from various cities such as Bandung, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Depok, Cirebon, Madura, Bogor, Cianjur, Sumedang Yogyakarta and other cities. It also obtained MURI record for the category of biggest number of Windows Phone application – the Nokia Lumia – developed simultaneously. The show is filled with technical education about Windows Phone application development and how to market it.

Nokia Southeast Asia Offers Lumia Phones to More Indonesian Developers

Amid the excitement of the record-breaking Windows Phone hackathon event over the weekend in Bandung, a little bit of news may have slipped past the radars of some people. We actually posted it as part of our recap of the event but it’s worth mentioning in a separate post as we now have more details.

At the end of Nokia Lumia Developer Day in Bandung on Sunday, Narenda Wicaksono, Developer Outreach manager for Nokia Southeast Asia threw down a challenge for mobile app developers across Indonesia. The Lumia Apps Challenge lets developers who were not at the event to participate in a chance to win a Nokia Lumia 710.

To qualify, developers are asked to build a prototype app using the Windows Phone SDK, register and post descriptions and screenshots of the app on the Nokia Indonesia Community site by 31 March.
