Regional Bank BRI to Officially Launch Electronic Payment System

On Thursday Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) will announce an expanded network of merchants who have joined its electronic payment solution, dubbed BRI e-pay. According to the information we received, BRI e-pay was actually introduced last December as part of the bank’s move to embrace electronic commerce and remain competitive. BRI has been known primarily as the people’s bank which had always been aimed at the regional markets beyond major cities.

Appropriate Payment Methods for E-Commerce in Indonesia

A short while ago Visa published Global Payment Tracker 2012 which reports on the payment methods used around the globe, including Indonesia. According to the report, in various points of sales, 57% uses debit cards and 83% uses credit cards. On the other hand, e-commerce transactions are still conducted using manual methods, including cash on delivery. This fact was revealed by CEO of Lazada Southeast Asia, Maximillian Bittner during Google Think 2013.

You Can Now Purchase Apps On Nokia Store Indonesia Using Credit Cards

Last April, Nokia debuted its mobile billing service in Indonesia to make it easier for consumers to purchase apps from the Nokia Store by allowing them to pay using their phone credits. The scheme was launched with three operators, Telkomsel, XL, and Indosat.

Starting today, Nokia customers in Indonesia will be able to purchase apps using credit cards. As posted by Widi Asmoro on his blog, credit card support has been granted for app purchases on Nokia Store in Indonesia. He also said that Nokia Store accepts Visa, Master Card, American Express, Diners Club, and JCB.

Payment is an important aspect, not just for consumers who wish to purchase apps especially those that have no free or ad-supported versions, but also to developers who rely on app sales. Phone credit deduction is especially important considering the low adoption of credit cards in Indonesia [and the overwhelming use of prepaid cards -Ed]. The simplicity of this system can be a boon for consumers who want to go beyond free apps.

Kemarin, Facebook mengumumkan sebuah langkah pembayaran baru yang memudahkan/merpercepat pengguna dalam membeli item (upgrade, layanan, item game, dan sebagainya) pada aplikasi dalam platform Facebook Mobile.

The Next Web menulis, jika pada sistem yang lama dibutuhkan 7 langkah bagi pengguna untuk membeli sebuah item, kini pengguna hanya membutuhkan 2 langkah mudah sampai pada proses pembayaran terjadi. Pembayaran akan dilakukan dengan menambahkan biaya tersebut ke tagihan telepon pengguna atau memotong pulsa untuk pengguna prabayar. Sistem ini didukung dengan kerja sama dengan operator telekomunikasi di 60 negara, telah tersedia di mayoritas layanan operator di US dan UK, serta akan berkembang ke operator lain di seluruh dunia, termasuk Indonesia. Multiply Akhirnya Dukung Pembayaran Menggunakan Kartu Kredit

Multiply menyempurnakan sistem pembayaran mereka dan kini menerima pembayaran menggunakan kartu kredit. Waktu ketersediaan pembayaran dengan kartu kredit ini cukup tepat, karena bersamaan dengan acara “Shopfest”, yang dikatakan sebagai festival terbesar untuk belanja online. Meskipun demikian, pembayaran dengan kartu kredit saat ini masih terbatas dengan ketentuan tertentu.

Seperti yang diumumkan di rilis pers, Multiply hanya menerima pembayaran menggunakan kartu kredit dari bank yang beroperasi di Indonesia dan hanya bisa digunakan untuk membeli barang dari Trusted Sellers (yang diverifikasi oleh Multiply sendiri).

Langkah ini menandai satu tahun kehadiran kantor Multiply di Indonesia. Per akhir tahun lalu, Multiply juga bahkan memidahkan kantor pusat mereka dari Boca Raton (Florida) ke Jakarta karena pasar terbesar mereka kini ada di Asia Tenggara, terutama Indonesia dan Filipina. Multiply Finally Receives Payment with Credit Card

Multiply finalizes its payment system by starting receiving credit card. The timing is perfectly in placed, as Multiply is currently holding an online event “Shopfest”, dubbed as the largest sales festival for online shops. Yet, payment with credit card is now limited with the terms.

As stated in the press release, Multiply only receives credit card from by banks operating in Indonesia and only valid for purchase at Trusted Sellers (verified by Multiply).

This step marks the milestone of one year of Multiply Indonesia office. Starting by end of last year, even more, Multiply had moved its headquarter from Boca Raton (Florida) to Jakarta since its biggest market now lies in Southeast Asia, especially in Indonesia and Philippines. Multiply recently has installed new CEO, Stefan Magdalinski, to replace Peter Pezaris.

In Indonesia, Multiply claims to have 80,000 permanent stores, 2 million registered users, and 7 million unique monthly visitors.  Previously, Multiply has already accepted payment using bank transfer, ATM, Internet banking, PayPal and mobile payment. Mobile payment feature is collaborating with XL Axiata, using its XL Tunai.

Inapay Launches InaKlik, Focusing to Acquire New Users

Inapay.com, a payment intermediary system with service system that is similar with joint account, recently launched a new feature to its members. This new feature is named InaKlik where the members can participate in promoting Inapay via the internet by placing a link provided by Inapay on the members’ blogs and websites.

You may be aware that Inapay is a startup that received investment from EastVenture in mid-January 2012. After the investment, many advances and changes happened in Inapay. Some of them are the change in the tagline on the logo, change of the concept of Gold Member and Silver Member, Inapay even handed out gadget prizes to its members. To be sure, this is done to keep acquiring new users to use this service.
