Windows Phone Marketplace Indonesia is Officially Going Live Today

As of today, Coinciding with the launching of Nokia Lumia series, Windows Phone Marketplace Indonesia is officially go live. Apart of being directly accessed using Windows Phone (by choosing Indonesia region first), we could also take a look of what is it inside Marketplace throught its site, either for app or games. The frontpage however is still not fully translated from Spanish.

I had a chance to try Marketplace Indonesia few days back during limited preview of Lumia and found out it still lacks of popular apps, like Twitter, Facebook or Twitter. It’s supposed that every Windows Phone owner in Indonesia able to set their marketplace to Indonesia region and easily download the apps and games. For paid apps, the purchase is available using credit card. Hopefully, in near future there will be cooperation with telecom operators so that users may opt for operator billing as their primary payment. The latter method is preferred because the possession of credit card in Indonesia is still somewhat limited.

Nokia Asia Tenggara Tawarkan Ponsel Lumia untuk Lebih Banyak Pengembang Indonesia

Di tengah kegembiraan acara yang memecahkan rekor Windows Phone hackathon selama akhir pekan di Bandung kemarin, ada satu berita yang mungkin tidak diperhatikan oleh beberapa orang. Kami sebenarnya menuliskan berita ini di artikel rekap tentang acara tersebut, namun setelah mendapatkan beberapa detail lain, berita ini kami pikir layak untuk dijadikan artikel tersendiri.

Pada akhir acara Nokia Lumia Developer Day di Bandung hari Minggu kemarin, Narenda Wicaksono, Developer Outreach Manager untuk Nokia Asia Tenggara melemparkan tantangan bagi para pengembang aplikasi mobile di seluruh Indonesia. Tantangan ini berupa Lumia Apps Challenge yang membuka kesempatan bagi para pengembang yang tidak menghadiri acara developer day kemarin untuk ikut berpartisipasi dan mencoba peruntungan mendapatkan Nokia Lumia 710.

Sebagai persyaratannya, pengembang dipersilahkan untuk membuat sebuah prototipe aplikasi menggunakan SDK Windows Phone, kemudian mendaftarkan diri dan mempublikasikan deskripsi dan screenshot dari aplikasi tersebut di situs Nokia Indonesia Community (Nice.co.id) sebelum tanggal 31 Maret.

Nokia Lumia Developer Day: 173 Apps, 8 Winners

Nokia Lumia Developer Day event from 4th – 5th February 2012 have been completed. The event attended by more than 800 participants from various regions of Indonesia.

This event was held by Nokia and Microsoft to welcome the official presence of Nokia Lumia 800 and 710. It was an event for the ecosystem development in Windows Phone platform (the application).

Yesterday event was quite interesting; especially for coding business – beyond the material – it started at 7 pm until morning. I don’t know for sure if the amount of contestants in the last 24 hours is the same with those who have followed the seminar from morning until afternoon, but there was no significant change in terms of number. Almost all seats are filled and the participants follow this coding event for more than 15 hours until the next morning.

According to the organizers, there are about 173 applications at the coding closing session and the applications submission. From these 173 applications, only 21 were selected. At the end, 8 applications (chosen by Narenda Wicaksono, Coach Co-ordinator and Irving Hutagalung) were qualified as the winner and got one Lumia phone 800 each.

An Interview with Irving Hutagalung About Windows Phone Marketplace, The Application Availability and The Developer Day Event

In between the Nokia Lumia Developer Day, DailySocial has the opportunity to meet Irving Hutagalung (an Marketing Manager-Developer and Platform Group Microsoft Indonesia) and talked about various things, including marketplace for Indonesia’s customers as well as the preparation for Windows Phone platform application availability, the purchase of application and some other things related to the ecosystem for Windows Phone.

Nokia Lumia Developer Day was held on 4th – 5th February 2012. The event was attended by more than 800 participants from various cities such as Bandung, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Depok, Cirebon, Madura, Bogor, Cianjur, Sumedang Yogyakarta and other cities. It also obtained MURI record for the category of biggest number of Windows Phone application – the Nokia Lumia – developed simultaneously. The show is filled with technical education about Windows Phone application development and how to market it.

Nokia Southeast Asia Offers Lumia Phones to More Indonesian Developers

Amid the excitement of the record-breaking Windows Phone hackathon event over the weekend in Bandung, a little bit of news may have slipped past the radars of some people. We actually posted it as part of our recap of the event but it’s worth mentioning in a separate post as we now have more details.

At the end of Nokia Lumia Developer Day in Bandung on Sunday, Narenda Wicaksono, Developer Outreach manager for Nokia Southeast Asia threw down a challenge for mobile app developers across Indonesia. The Lumia Apps Challenge lets developers who were not at the event to participate in a chance to win a Nokia Lumia 710.

To qualify, developers are asked to build a prototype app using the Windows Phone SDK, register and post descriptions and screenshots of the app on the Nokia Indonesia Community site by 31 March.

Nokia Lumia Developer Day: 173 Aplikasi, 8 Pemenang

Acara Nokia Lumia Developer Day yang didakan dari tanggal 4 – 5 Februari 2012 telah selesai dilaksanakan. Acara ini dipenuhi lebih dari 800 peserta dari berbagai daerah.

Acara ini merupakan kegiatan yang diadakan Nokia dan Microsoft dalam menyambut kehadiran resmi Nokia Lumia 800 dan 710 serta sebagai ajang pengembangan ekosistem di platform Windows Phone, dalam hal ini adalah aplikasi.

Acara yang diadakan kemarin cukup menarik, terutama untuk urusan coding – di luar materi – yang dimulai dari pukul 7 malam sampai pagi. Saya tidak tahu secara pasti apakah jumlah yang bertahan selama 24 jam sama dengan yang mengikuti seminar di pagi sampai sore, namun secara kasat mata jumlahnya tidak ada perubahan berarti, hampir semua kursi masih terisi dan para peserta mengikuti acara coding lebih dari 15 jam ini sampai keesokkan harinya.

Menurut panitia, saat penutupan sesi coding dan penyerahan aplikasi, ada sekitar 173 aplikasi yang berhasil dikumpulkan, dari 173 aplikasi ini dikerucutkan menjadi 21 dan akhirnya dipilih (oleh Narenda Wicaksono dan Kordinator Pelatih dan Irving Hutagalung ) 8 aplikasi sebagai pemenang yang berhak mendapatkan masing-masing satu buah ponsel Lumia 800.

Wawancara Dengan Irving Hutagalung Tentang Windows Phone Marketplace, Ketersediaan Aplikasi dan Acara Developer Day

Disela-sela acara Nokia Lumia Developer Day, DailySocial bersempatan bertemu dengan Irving Hutagalung – Audience Marketing Manager – Developer and Platform Group Microsoft Indonesia dan berbincang tentang berbagai hal, antara lain tentang marketplace untuk konsumen Indonesia serta persiapan ketersediaan aplikasi untuk platform Windows Phone, pembelian aplikasi serta beberapa hal lain yang berkaitan dengan ekosistem untuk Windows Phone.

Nokia Lumia Developer Day sendiri dilaksanakan hari ini sampai dengan besok tanggal 5 Februari 2012. Acara yang dihadiri lebih dari 800 peserta dari berbagai kota seperti Bandung, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Depok, Cirebon, Madura, Bogor, Cianjur, Sumedang Yogyakarta dan kota lain ini juga mendapatkan rekor MURI untuk ketegori mengembangkan aplikasi Windows Phone untuk Nokia Lumia serentak dalam jumlah terbanyak. Acara diisi dengan edukasi teknis seputar pengembangan aplikasi Windows Phone serta bagaimana memasarkannya.

Setelah itu diadakan acara coding selama kurang lebih 15 jam dari jam 7 malam sampai dengan 10 pagi keesokkan harinya. Dilengkapi juga dengan lomba aplikasi dengan memilih 8 aplikasi yang akan mendapatkan hadiah Nokia Lumia 800 serta aplikasi yang berhasil dikembangkan akan didaftarkan ke Windows Phone Marketplace.

Windows Phone Marketplace Kini Buka di Indonesia dan Empat Negara Lain

Microsoft telah melebarkan jangkuan Windows Phone Marketplace ke lima negara tambahan terhitung hari ini, sebelum peluncuran Nokia Lumia pada tanggal 17 Februari yang akan datang. Kelima negara tersebut adalah Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru, Filipina dan Argentina. Bulan lalu, Microsoft menambahkan enam negara ke App Hub agar para pengembang aplikasi dapat mendaftarkan aplikasi mereka untuk didistribusikan di negara-negara tersebut.

Di antara enam negara yang diperkenalkan ke App Hub, Cina menjadi negara satu-satunya yang tidak termasuk dalam ekspansi ini namun para pengembang tetap diperkenankan untuk mendaftarkan aplikasi mereka. Apa yang menghambat penambahan Cina ke dalam daftar Marketplace masih belum diketahui namun dapat diperkirakan bahwa Microsoft masih menangani keperluan legalitas agar dapat mendistribusikan aplikasi pengembang ke konsumen Cina.

Windows Phone Marketplace Expands to Indonesia and Four Other Countries

Ahead of the public launch of Lumia in Indonesia on February 17, Microsoft’s Windows Phone Marketplace has expanded to five additional countries including Indonesia as of today. Just last month, the Redmond giant added six countries to the App Hub so developers could prepare their apps for distribution in those countries. The five countries are Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru, The Philippines, and Argentina, bringing the number of Marketplace availability to 40 countries.

Among the six countries recently introduced to the App Hub, China is the only one not included in this expansion but developers are still welcomed to submit their applications. What is holding back China is unclear although one could speculate that Microsoft may still be working on the legalities and paperworks in order to allow developers to make their apps available to Chinese consumers.

Microsoft SkyDrive Sekarang Tersedia sebagai Aplikasi untuk Windows Phone dan iPhone

Jika Anda seorang penggemar Dropbox, box.net atau layanan penyimpanan online lainnya, Anda mungkin ingin memberi perhatian pada Microsoft. Microsoft merilis SkyDrive untuk iPhone dan Windows Phone pada hari Rabu kemarin. SkyDrive menyediakan bagi Anda penyimpanan online gratis sebesar 25 Gigabyte yang memungkinkan Anda untuk dapat menyimpan dan berbagi segala macam file digital yang Anda inginkan.

Pengguna Windows Phone telah memiliki SkyDrive yang terhubung dengan galeri foto dan aplikasi Office, namun layanan ini belum tersedia untuk keperluan lain kecuali sebagai penyimpanan email dari Windows Live. Pemilik Windows Phone sendiri secara otomatis menerima layanan SkyDrive pada saat mendaftar ke layanan Microsoft Live, yang dibutuhkan bagi setiap Windows Phone.
