MediaWave on Frontier Consulting Group’s Post Investment Strategy and Other Development

Last week came in some media the news about investments from Frontier Consulting Group (FCG) to MediaWave, 30% of their shares now owned by FCG while the remaining 70% is still owned by the founder of MediaWave, Yose Rizal and Erik Palupi.

DailySocial had never written specifically about MediaWave, but Rama had discussed trends such as services provided by MediaWave in relation to the trend of social media analytics. Some services are similar to MediaWave among others are Trendiest and Katapedia.

MediaWave is a monitoring platform and analysis of social media that can be used by brand owners to monitor the conversations of consumers in social media, they provide a service that can capture the conversation in Indonesian and a deeper excavations, including for the sentiment, geographic data, gender, influencers or presence of competitors and things relating to specific keywords.

The Winners of Bubu Awards v.07

IDBYTE 2011 entered the top event with the announcement of the winners Bubu Awards v.07 on Thursday night, July 14, 2011. After a series of events that took place from 11 to 14 July 2011, as well as previous roadshow events to several major cities and campuses in Indonesia, followed by three day workshop, as well as seminars on the last day, a series of events closed with the announcement of the winners of Bubu Awards v.07.

Shinta W. Dhanuwardoyo in her speech said that the number of participants for the workshop that is run on July 11 to 13 of 1,500 participants, while for the seminar approaching 1,000, and the number of speakers as much as 28 speakers.

SuBali (Startup Bali) will hold their 4th routine meetup, and this time the theme will be on Mobile Development, one of the hottest theme considering the popularity of mobile device, application growth and interesting business opportunity.

Lapar.com’s First Gathering in Bandung (Video Interview)

Lapar.com held their first gathering in Bandung last Saturday June 25, 2011. Held at Rumah Makan Arum Manis – Cihampelas Bandung, it was attended by more than 300 people, not only users but also merchants.

Lapar.com becomes one of interesting daily deals service since it was launched because focusing on food merchants. They have plenty of active users, especially from Bandung. As Firman, founder Lapar.com, stated the reason they chose Bandung to held first gathering was based on the fact that the largest community of Lapar.com is in the city.

Hack & Roll by Yahoo! Koprol

If you’re getting tired of similar competitions you might want to check this one out. Yahoo! Koprol is holding Hack&Roll based in Indonesia and Philippines. Developers will compete using unreleased Koprol API and work some wonders. They will have only 3 weeks to do that. For what prize? For 3 newest game console, for three winners.

Hack & Roll as a form of appreciation towards hackers by Yahoo! Koprol. Hacker here (in Indonesia) is in a negative way, where they can be positive if they are doing something that will bring good. Hack & Roll will be kicked off today [registration form is yet to be available]. Stasion Workshop #3: “New Wave of E-Commerce The Challenge & Opportunity for Startup”

Stasion, a startup community from Malang have several agendas and programs. Stasion Internal Meetup is a routine members gathering. Stasion Public Meetup is a routine gathering for public, larger than Internal Meetup. Last but not least is Stasion Workshop, open for public.

Workshop this time will talk about “New Wave of E-Commerce The Challenge & Opportunity for Startup”. It will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 on 09.00 – 14.30 WIB at Gedung INBIS Universitas Brawijaya, Jl. Veteran No. 11 – 12, Malang – Indonesia (maps). Stasion Workshop is supported by INAICTA 2011 team.

The first session will present INAICTA 2011 team. Looks like there will be socialization on INAICTA 2011 and sharing from several INAICTA’s previous years winners, maybe it will be like what they did at Gamelan community’s event in May. Second session will present two speakers related to workshop’s theme, Peter Widjaja (VP of Operation at East Ventures) and Amri (Founder Game4Smart dan AlfaSoft).

On Echelon 2011, one of panel discussions talked about investors. The theme is always interesting or at least can bring a good discussion.

What’s in investor’s mind became the main question, especially for startup that needs funding and been wondering how investors think of a startup and what are the considerations before they fund any startup.

Event: SparxUp Seminar: “The Rise of Social Games”

SparxUp Seminar, held previously in various cities like Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya and Jogjakarta, is back and will talk about “The Rise of Social Games”.

It will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 09.00 – 13.00 WIB, at IDS (International Design School), Epicentrum Walk 3rd floor, Kuningan, South Jakarta.

Games, as said by observers or practitioners, is the next big thing. It shows from the numbers of successful games gaining huge revenue. Integration with social element makes gaming nowadays more interactive and earn buzz on various social networks.

Local games are also growing. Several local games have significant users, for example Football Saga from Agate Studio, and Ambrosia (Facebook platform game). Ambrosia was one of SparxUp Award winners for game category.

Short Interview with PlayMoolah – Winner of Echelon 2011 Startup Launchpad (Video)

PlayMoolah becomes the winner of Echelon 2011 Startup Launchpad, an event as part of Echelon 2011 series of events. Echelon 2011 was held for 2 days, June 16-17, 2011 and the agenda was presentation, panel discussions and startup exhibition from various countries including Indonesia.

The event was held in University Cultural Centre (UCC) at National University of Singapore, as part of Echelon, also presented Startup Launchpad, the final part of Echelon 2011 Satellite held in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and of course, Indonesia.

Presentations came from 11 startups, three of them from Indonesia, Fetch Fans, Moglue, LocoBuzz, JellyBus, SixReps, SecondCRM, TributeBallon (Cardinal Blue), Bouncity, WorkCrowd, PriceArea, and PlayMoolah.

At the end of the day the judges chose PlayMoolah as the winner of Echelon 2011 Startup Launchpad.
