Catatan Singkat dari Acara CyberAgent – Net Impact

Hari 7 Maret 2012 kemarin, Jakarta kedatangan beberapa tamu yang sudah tidak asing lagi di dunia TI, nama-nama perusahaan mereka, sebagian besar sudah dikenal, bahkan mungkin juga disegani dalam skala bisnis bagi banyak perusahaan.

Para wakil dari perusahaan ini hadir di acara Net Impact yang diselenggarakan oleh CyberAgent Ventures di hotel Hyatt Jakarta. Acara ini adalah yang pertama yang diselenggarakan di Jakarta, para pembicara yang hadir adalah dari GREE, Tencent, Sina Weibo, DeNa, NCT Corporation, Teamobi/Green Mobile Corporation, VNG Corporation dan tentunya Cyber Agent sendiri serta diskusi panel.

Rama juga menuliskan opini yang berkaitan dengan acara ini sedangkan artikel ini adalah kesan saya selama menghadiri acara. Meski saya sendiri agak telat hadir (melewatkan 3 pembicara) namun ada beberapa catatan yang bisa menjadi masukan informasi bagi pelaku industri TI di Indonesia.

A Brief Note from the CyberAgent – Net Impact

On March 7, 2012, Jakarta was visited by a couple of guests who are no strangers in the IT world. Most of them are already well-known and probably are quite respected in the business all over the region.

The representatives of these companies presented at Net Impact event held by CyberAgent Ventures at Hyatt Hotel, Jakarta. This event was the first to be held in Jakarta. The panelists were from GREE, Tencent, Sina Weibo, DeNa, NCT Corporation, Teamobi/Green Mobile Corporation, VNG Corporation and of course from Cyber Agent itself.

Rama has written an opinion piece regarding this event while this article is my impression of the whole event. Eventhough I was a bit late (missed 3 speakers) there were several notes that are quite useful as an input to the tech industry in Indonesia.

The term that was often said in the presentation yesterday was “platform”. Almost all of the presentations that I attended explained about their products and services which developed into a platform and opening their services for other parties in the expansion/development of the their primary service/product.

Investing in Tokopedia, CyberAgent Ventures will Open Branch Office in Indonesia

Along with their portfolio expansion by funding towards Tokopedia, CyberAgent Ventures as investment company from Japan announced their plan to open Indonesia office. Nobuaki Kitagawa, Director of Overseas Investment CyberAgent Ventures, said, “We saw Indonesia’s huge potential in internet market, so we are planning to open an office here to develop our investment.”

Previously we’ve informed that CyberAgent Ventures has invested US$ 700,000 for Tokopedia and get 10% of stock share. This means Tokopedia’s valuation has reached US$ 7,000,000. This is an excellent achievement for Tokopedia, which was established less than two years ago. Previously Tokopedia also received fund from PT Indonusa Dwitama and East Ventures.
