Competing with IndoNetwork, IndoTrading Freshen Up Their Website

Back in 2010 (yes, 2 years ago), Rama had said that he thought that the sites such as Karir.com and Indonetwork.co.id are the example of conservative, not modern website but can keep on making money. I don’t know how both website looked like at that time but seeing from their current look, I think both websites’ design is similar with the web design at the beginning of the internet.

But both websites are proven to be able to survive, maintaining the design but still making profit. But what if other website appears with similar business plan but better design? I will not talk about it here. I will only talk about Indonetwork having a competition with similar business but with a –in my opinion- better design, IndoTrading.

IndoTrading website’s design is arguably look a like IndoNetwork’s. At the top, both sites display various “Company” and “Product” tabs and there’s a search facility based on province under it. At the left column, both display list of company categories. Upper right displays login form and in the middle displays some lists of companies and products. It’s difficult not to say that IndoTrading is inspired by IndoNetwork. The difference is IndoTrading comes a bit more modern by using red color and changing image slider.

Comparing Three Online Small and Medium Enterprise Directories

Wiku once had written his opinion on a wide-open opportunity to help Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). In that opinion, he said that despite SMEs owners’ knowledge about the internet is increasing, opportunities for business development as well as helping SMEs owners to develop their businesses, remains wide open.

This may be true because until today, this kind of business model keeps on sprouting. When I googled the keyword “SME Directory”, I found many websites have SME directory, whether it’s there for a very long time or newly made. But in my opinion, there are only 3 websites that deserve to be mentioned in providing listing service to SMEs in Indonesia. Those three websites are Promo UKMBisnis UKM (beta) and PlazaID.

This many not meet Wiku’s hope at the time to give a service that’s different and combine two or more existing services. The three directories are still a container to be a place to promote products and services offered by SMEs. At least, that can help SMEs to meet prospective clients. Let’s compare the three based on several things below.

As Google launched Bisnis Go Online, E-commerce Players Band Together to Set Up an Association

On Wednesday, Google, along with a number of Indonesian partners in both the private and government sectors, launched an initiative to bring 100,000 Indonesian small and medium businesses/enterprises online by the end of 2012.

Dubbed Bisnis Lokal Go Online, the move is spurred by the lack of adoption of the Internet by Indonesian companies despite having more than 40 million individuals logging time on the Internet. As the majority of these people spend their time on social networks, it’s up to local businesses to bring their presence online and improve awareness as well as trust to get consumers to interact with them.

While Google is the primary driver of this program, it is also being backed by three government ministries, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce, PANDI, the Indonesian Internet domain agency, Internet providers Melsa and Bakrie Connectivity, Multiply, as well as Aptikom, the higher education association of computer science and informatics.
