Microsoft Announces Windows Phone 8 Update 3 With Preview for Developers

Eid Mubarak to all our Muslim readers, and to all developers (or even “developers” who pretend to be) making Windows Phone apps, Microsoft has a present for you. The company has announced Windows Phone 8 GDR 3, or simply Update 3, and it will be available for registered developers today. The update features a number of new features, enhancements, and support for a greater variety of devices, which will be rolled out for the public in the coming weeks.

Publishing on Windows Phone Marketplace According to Puja Pramudya of Radya Labs

A few days ago we highlighted an issue with the Windows Phone Marketplace. A Slovenian developer, Matic Bitenc blogged about his difficulties in publishing his app called Toshl on Windows Phone Marketplace. Bitenc pointed at the lack of access for Slovenian developers even though Marketplace is already available to customers in the former Yugoslavian republic. As a result, Bitenc had to submit his app using a Microsoft Slovenia account.

We dug in to find out whether this is happening as well in Indonesia. The country already has its own Marketplace which debuted alongside the Nokia Lumia. We contacted Puja Pramudya, co-founder and developer at Bandung-based Radya Labs which specializes in Windows Phone platform. Radya Labs is arguably the most prolific Windows Phone app developer in the country, publishing apps for itself as well as for clients.

We asked Pramudya about the status of Windows Phone publishing in Indonesia and this is what he has to say about it.

Game Developers Gathering 2012 Presents DeNA, Mochi Media and Touchten

This time comes news from game development world in Indonesia, namely the coming of an annual event Game Developers Gathering 2012. The event will be held for the fourth time in Jakarta and will take place at Multimedia Nusantara University at Gading Serpong on May 26, 2012.

This year’s Game Developers Gathering 2012 will be attended by several speakers who have been in the game development world for a while. Some of them are Kris Antoni (CEO – Toge Productions), Toshihiko Suyama (Director of Marketing Development – DeNA), Eri Chen (Team Lead – Mochi Media), Gregorius Martinus (Lead Artist – Boomzap), Ronald Widjaja (Game Producer – Faunia Rancher), Anton Soeharyo (CEO – Touchten) and Wilson Tjandra (Art Director – Mintsphere).

There will be some highlighted activities in this event, namely ‘seminar, public lecture, sharing session’ with game animation practitioners and venture capitalists that will be present and share their knowledge of the gaming industry. Other highlighted activity is ‘work showcase’ where students and professionals will demonstrate their talents in game development.
