Facebook Uji Fitur Konversi Dari Suara ke Bentuk Teks di Aplikasi Messenger

Facebook Just Rolled Out Voice Calls Internationally

Earlier this week Facebook rolled out the ability to make voice calls on its Messenger app for iOS for members in the UK following an initial launch in the US and Canada in January. From today, without having to update the Messenger app, Facebook has enabled voice calls for its International members. The service essentially turns Facebook Messenger into a phone app, along the lines of Asian messenger apps Line, KakaoTalk, and WeChat.

Why Did Facebook Choose Those Five Specific Countries to Roll Out Its New Messenger Service?

When Facebook enabled phone number registration for its Messenger app on Android earlier this week, it selected five countries for the initial roll out but it never provided a reason as to why these countries were selected. The countries are Australia, India, Indonesia, South Africa and Venezuela. Aside from India, all the other countries are on the southern hemisphere, but what would prompt Facebook to choose them? Because it doesn’t look like the selection had anything to do with WhatsApp.

Asia Will Prove a Difficult Market for Facebook Messenger

How time flies real fast in the technology world. Earlier this week, TechCrunch had reported that Facebook was in talks to acquire WhatsApp, the highly popular text messaging app that aims to deliver a better way to exchange text messages among mobile phone users. WhatsApp denied that rumor, saying that it was “not factually accurate”, but within hours of that denial, Facebook opened up its Messenger app to allow people to sign up to it using just a phone number and a name, no need for a Facebook account. Just like WhatsApp.
