Japan’s CyberAgent Ventures and Singapore-based East Ventures today announced that they are closing a round of funding for a new e-commerce site that focuses on baby and kids products called Bilna. CyberAgent Prepared USD 10 Million For Indonesia Startup

Although it sounds like a very large number, you shouldn’t dream of becoming a billionaire first.

CyberAgent, a Japanese investment company announced USD 20 million new funding to be divided proportionally between Indonesia and Vietnam. CyberAgent has formally established Jakarta office shortly after officially announcing their investment in local e-commerce sites, Tokopedia. CyberAgent targeted to invest in 5-10 companies. Until mid-2012 this year, they are scheduled to invest in 3 companies.

Quoted from e27, Investment Manager Mr Takahiro Suzuki, Indonesia still doesn’t have enough technology companies that could be a role model and share success stories. This caused a lot of startup from Indonesia might haven’t been sufficiently “mature” enough to be called a real company. CyberAgent has a backup plan if they fail to find a startup to invest in Indonesia by establishing an incubation institution just like other investors.

Investasi di Tokopedia, CyberAgent Ventures Akan Buka Kantor Di Indonesia

Seiring dengan ekspansi portofolio dengan pendanaan terhadap Tokopedia, CyberAgent Ventures sebagai sebuah perusahaan investasi asal Jepang mengumumkan rencananya untuk membuka kantor di Indonesia. Nobuaki Kitagawa, Direktur Overseas Investment CyberAgent Ventures, mengatakan, “Kami melihat besarnya potensi pasar internet di Indonesia, sehingga berencana untuk membuka kantor kami di sini untuk terus mengembangkan investasi kami.”

Meskipun tidak dijelaskan secara eksplisit di rilis persnya, sebelumnya sudah kami informasikan bahwa CyberAgent Ventures telah menginvestasikan US$700 ribu untuk Tokopedia dan mendapatkan 10% saham. Ini berarti valuasi Tokopedia saat ini mencapai US$7 juta. Suatu pencapaian yang bagus untuk Tokopedia yang belum berusia dua tahun. Sebelumnya Tokopedia sudah memperoleh pendanaan dari PT Indonusa Dwitama dan East Ventures.

Investing in Tokopedia, CyberAgent Ventures will Open Branch Office in Indonesia

Along with their portfolio expansion by funding towards Tokopedia, CyberAgent Ventures as investment company from Japan announced their plan to open Indonesia office. Nobuaki Kitagawa, Director of Overseas Investment CyberAgent Ventures, said, “We saw Indonesia’s huge potential in internet market, so we are planning to open an office here to develop our investment.”

Previously we’ve informed that CyberAgent Ventures has invested US$ 700,000 for Tokopedia and get 10% of stock share. This means Tokopedia’s valuation has reached US$ 7,000,000. This is an excellent achievement for Tokopedia, which was established less than two years ago. Previously Tokopedia also received fund from PT Indonusa Dwitama and East Ventures.

Tokopedia Dapatkan Pendanaan dari CyberAgent Ventures Jepang, Sekarang Dinilai Seharga US$7 juta

Seperti diinformasikan oleh blogger Techcrunch dari Jepang, Serkan Toto, CyberAgent Ventures Jepang telah mengumumkan investasi terhadap platform e-commerce Tokopedia. Menurut harian bisnis The Nikkei, CyberAgent menanamkan US$700 ribu untuk memperoleh 10% kepemilikan. Ini berarti valuasi Tokopedia sudah mencapai angka US$7 juta, suatu pencapaian yang baik setelah mereka membukukan transaksi senilai US$500 ribu saat ulang tahun perdananya (17 Agustus 2010 lalu). Sebelumnya, Tokopedia telah memperoleh pendanaan dari PT Indonusa Dwitama dan East Ventures.
