We get the scoop that prominent investment firm JP Morgan is set to invest in Southeast Asia startup. The recipient is none other than Rocket Internet’s e-commerce startup Lazada. We still try to confirm the total amount of investment, but it’s reported to reach hundred of millions of US Dollar. Lazada Indonesia, deemed as the most potential, gains the biggest chunk of all. Lazada currently operates in five countries in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam.

OFFICIAL: Wego Made Strategic Investment in Travel Site Valadoo

We’ve raised this news earlier, saying number of Valadoo’s shares has been taken over by Asia Pacific’s leading travel metasearch company, Wego. Now the news has been fully confirmed. According to the press release, Wego has made strategic investment in travel site Valadoo, with Wego’s co-founders Ross Veitch and Craig Hewett both joining Valadoo’s board of commissioners. Graham Hills, Managing Director of Wego Indonesia is also becoming member of Valadoo’s board of directors. Valadoo CEO, Jaka Wiradisuria will continue his post. The amount of investment is not disclosed.

With this investment, Valadoo will join Wego office in Jakarta and collaborating exclusive deals, editorial, digital marketing, and social programs. It’s a synergy on how traveling being planned and how the plan is being easily discovered. GameSaku announces partnership with Apps Foundry. It is carried out in form of Apps Foundry’s investment at GameSaku with undisclosed amount.

GameSaku is a mobile gaming blog, focuses on iOS platform (iPhone, iPod and iPad). It was previously known as RumahApp. GameSaku discusses various games in iOS, also reviews and writes about news on gaming industry. Apps Foundry, in other hand, is an application development company that develops SCOOP Newsstand. Apps Foundry is one of East Ventures’ portfolio that already received further funding from Gobi Partners and Mitsui Global Investment (MGI).

UrbanIndo Receives Funding from East Ventures, Ready for Marketing and Research Program

Another investment is scored by local service. UrbanIndo receives Series A funding from East Ventures (EV). The official announcement will be released this afternoon. As part of the deal, Chandra Tjan from East Ventures will be joining UrbanIndo’s board of director. The amount of investment is not disclosed.

UrbanIndo itself is a property site which give benefit on users who would like to buy, rent, or sell their properties. Salah satu pemain e-commerce dari Indonesia, Tokopedia baru saja mengumumkan bahwa mereka telah mendapatkan seri pendanaan baru, kali ini investor yang mengucurkan dana ke Tokopedia berasal dari Jepang, yaitu NetPrice. Tokopedia juga mengumumkan bahwa Teruhide Sato, CEO dari grup NetPrice bergabung di jajaran direksi, sebagai salah satu bagian dari kesepatakan investasi tersebut.

Tokopedia sebelumnya telah mendapatkan pendanaan (seed) dari East Ventures dan kemudian seri A dari Cyber Agent Japan, dua co-founder dari Tokopedia, Leontinus Alpha Edison dan William Tanuwijaya tetap akan memimpin dan memegang tanggung jawab operasional Tokopedia seperti biasa.

Tokopedia closes new investment round from Japanese company Netprice

Indonesian e-commerce player Tokopedia just announced that they have closed another round of funding and this time from Japan’s investment company NetPrice. They also announced that Teruhide Sato, Group CEO of NetPrice joins Tokopedia’s board seat as a part of the investment deal.

Tokopedia receives seed funding from East Ventures and later a Series A from Cyber Agent Japan before moving on with this investment deal with NetPrice although both co-founders of Tokopedia, Leontinus Alpha Edison and William Tanuwijaya, will continue to lead and maintain the full operational responsibilities of Tokopedia.
