Twitter Expands Advertising Products to Indonesia

Twitter launched its advertising products in Indonesia on Wednesday, having announced a partnership with Komli Media to deliver Twitter ads to Southeast Asia back in November last year. The ad products which comprise of promoted tweets, promoted trends, and promoted accounts, will now be available to Indonesian companies wishing to increase exposure and brand participation among the highly active and engaging consumers on Twitter.

Third Party Apps in Danger as Twitter Severs Ties With LinkedIn

Just two weeks after Twitter introduced expanded tweets for brands, product team director Michael Sippey reiterated Twitter’s intentions with regards to its product and distribution of content  on the company’s developer blog. Upon reading it thoroughly it’s never been clearer that Twitter aims to control its product more so than ever before. In aiming to deliver a consistent experience, the days of third party apps seem to be numbered.

As Sippey noted in his post, Twitter’s director of platform Ryan Sarver last year fired a warning shot at third party developers to discourage them from creating applications that mimic Twitter’s own and deliver identical Twitter experience to consumers. This is simply an extension of that directive and LinkedIn is the first casualty.

At the same time, LinkedIn published a post on its own blog noting that it will no longer be deliver tweets on its network. The relationship between these two companies began in 2009 and LinkedIn users were able to display their tweets on their LinkedIn profile page. I’ll leave it to you to decide whether synchronizing your tweets to LinkedIn is a wise move, but in any case, this is no longer possible as of today.

idblogNetwork Launch Another New Feature: Pay Per View

idblogNetwork launched a new feature for its service. Official announcement was released a few days ago via a press release which also sent to DailySocial.

idblogNetwork as Indonesia blogger ad network, within these last 3 months has launched two new features, the addition of the pay per view video banner is the third one in the past 3 months. Previously, it released pay per sale feature in January and pay per lead in early March.

As for pay per view, as described in the press release, idblogNetwork will provide features for services such brand owners or advertisers who want to spread audio video message to blogger networks owned by idblogNetwork. There are currently more than 8500 bloggers registered inside idblogNetwork’s network.

Data Minat Jadi Modal Usaha Iklan Twitter

Bloomberg Businessweek membuat profil Twitter di edisi terbarunya dan membahas secara mendalam tentang perjalanan Twitter dalam mencari model bisnis dan sumber pemasukan yang tepat tanpa mengusik pengguna mereka yang sangat sensitif. Setelah mengalami ketidakstabilan dalam 4 tahun pertama mereka, Twitter akhirnya menemukan stabilitas pada tahun 2011 dan diperkirakan akan melambung di tahun 2012 dengan mindset bisnis periklanan yang baru melalui akun, Tweet, dan tren yang dipromosikan. Pelaku bisnis juga diundang untuk mengembangkan halaman Twitter dengan biaya tambahan.

Periklanan di Twitter berpusat di sekitar data atas minat penggunanya. Twitter berusaha untuk mencari tahu pribadi seperti apa dari penggunanya dengan melihat siapa yang Anda ikuti, apa yang Anda bagikan dan tautan apa yang Anda klik. Dick Costolo, CEO Twitter berpikir bahwa pendekatan ini lebih baik dari model yang dijalankan Facebook yang lebih personal, bahkan terlalu personal. Data atas minat memang sedikit lebih luas namun lebih bisa menemukan orang seperti apa Anda, dan bukan siapa Anda.

Interest Graph Powers Twitter’s Advertising Efforts

Bloomberg Businessweek profiles Twitter in its latest issue and goes deep into its journey to find the right business model and revenue generator that do not repel its highly sensitive members. Following a turmoil in its first four years, Twitter found stability in 2011 and is set to soar in 2012 with its newly minted advertising business through promoted accounts, tweets, and trends. Businesses are also invited to create enhanced Twitter pages for a fee.

Twitter’s advertising is centered around an interest graph. It strives to find out what kind of person you are based on who you follow, what you share, and what links you click. CEO Dick Costolo thinks this is better than Facebook’s model which is very personal, and sometimes too personal. The interest graph is a little bit more broad as it discovers what kind of person you are instead of who you are.

Yahoo! Indonesia resmi memperkenalkan Roy Simangunsong sebagai Country Ambassador dan Sales Director yang baru

Yahoo! Indonesia hari ini mengumumkan Country Ambsassador dan Sales Director mereka yang baru yaitu Roy Arnold Simangunsong. Roy yang pindah dari IBM, sebelumnya ia pernah bekerja di Microsoft. Tanggung jawab utamanya di Yahoo! adalah mendorong strategi penjualan, menemukan peluang dan pertumbuhan iklan online. Ia juga mengisi peran yang sebelumnya diisi oleh Pontus Sonnerstedt. Roy resmi bergabung di Yahoo! Indonesia pada bulan Desember 2011 lalu.

Tentang peran baru ini Roy mengatakan, “Saya ingin fokus pada relevansi lokal dan membawa nilai bagi konsumen maupun audiens Indonesia”. Ia mengidentifikasikan 4 area kunci yang akan membawa pertumbuhan Yahoo! di Indonesia, antara lain niche segments, kerja sama dengan klien dan pengiklan, berinvestasi di produk dan konten yang inovatif serta berinvestasi di talent.

Dalam satu tahun kebelakang, Yahoo! Indonesia telah meluncurkan Koprol untuk Bisnis, Yahoo! Post, microsite Ramadhan Mubarak, Buka Dunia dan Style Factor.
