Perusahaan pengembang social game asal Yogyakarta SoybeanSoft hari ini mengumumkan kemitraan strategis dengan East Ventures. SoybeanSoft adalah pengembang game multiplatform yang berfokus pada pasar lokal, game yang dikembangkannya antara lain Hunter Story, sebuah game action-RPG untuk web, iOS dan Android.

SoybeanSoft adalah sebuah studio game yang didirikan pada tahun 2007 dan telah merilis beberapa casual web game untuk dilisensikan pada pihak lain. SoybeanSoft telah bekerja sama dengan beberapa portal permainan populer di seluruh dunia, termasuk MochiMedia, ArmorGames, DisneyXD, Candystand, dan SpielGames. SoybeanSoft adalah perusahaan game kedua dari portofolio East Ventures, awal tahun ini, perusahaan mobile game asal Bandung, Nightspade juga mendapatkan pendanaan dari East Ventures.

Gaming Company SoybeanSoft Closes Funding Round From East Ventures

Jogjakarta based gaming company SoybeanSoft today announces their strategic partnership with East Ventures. SoybeanSoft is a multiplatform game developer focusing on the local market such as ‘Hunter Story an action-RPG for the web, iOS and Android.

SoybeanSoft is a game studio founded in 2007 and has released several casual web games for licensing. SoybeanSoft has been working with several major game portals worldwide, including MochiMedia, ArmorGames, DisneyXD, Candystand, and SpielGames. SoybeanSoft is East Ventures’ second gaming company on their portfolio after early this year Bandung-based mobile gaming company Nightspade also closes funding round from East Ventures.

East Ventures Alpha : A 100-days Accelerator Program For Indonesian Startups

East Ventures officially announces their 100-days accelerator program for Indonesian startups that will be held in their new shiny space in Jakarta. This accelerator program is called “East Ventures Alpha” and will be help from September-December this year, and they have officially open registration for startup until August 20th 2011.

Even though the activity will be based in Jakarta, the program is open for all startup from all over Indonesia who is willing to do their projects and ideas full-time on their accelerator space in Senayan, Jakarta. Other than office space, infrastructure and funding, EV Alpha will also facilitate mentorship program with mentors from Indonesia and also foreign mentors.

East Ventures Dirikan Program Akselerasi Startups EV Alpha di Jakarta

East Ventures yang berbasis di Singapura dan selama ini banyak memberikan pendanaan untuk startups di Indonesia mendirikan program akselerasi startups 100 hari bernama East Ventures (EV) Alpha yang akan dilangsungkan di Jakarta. Program tahap pertama (first batch) akan berlangsung September-Desember 2011 ini selama 100 hari dan pendaftaran dibuka hingga 20 Agustus mendatang. Program akselerasi akan ditutup dengan Demo Day. Co-Founder East Ventures, Batara Eto, dalam siaran persnya menyebutkan, “Dengan program ini, kami harapkan akan muncul lebih banyak lagi pengusaha di ranah Internet dari Indonesia.”

Meskipun nantinya kantor tempat berlangsung kegiatan program ini terletak di Jakarta, tentunya program ini terbuka untuk semua startups di Indonesia. Startups yang terpilih harus mengerjakan ide dan proyeknya secara full time di tempat inkubasi East Ventures Tech Center yang terletak di kawasan Senayan, Jakarta Selatan. Selain ruangan kerja, infrastruktur, dan pendanaan, EV Alpha akan memfasilitasi mentorship dengan sejumlah mentor dari dalam maupun luar negeri.

DS-Tour: Urbanesia

Kami mengunjungi kantor Urbanesia beberapa waktu lalu, dan berbincang dengan CEO Selina Limman dan CTO Batista Harahap mengenai seluk beluk Urbanesia, dan rencana mereka di tahun 2011 ini.

Urbanesia bertujuan menjadi tempat pencarian informasi online kota Jakarta yang pertama dan telah berhasil menyediakan jawaban bagi mereka yang mencari informasi mengenai lokasi dan tempat di seputar kota Jakarta melalui Google dengan menempati tiga posisi hasil pencarian teratas di sebagian besar pencarian tempat.

Namun demikian, sebagian besar pengunjung cenderung untuk meninggalkan situs mereka segera setelah menemukan apa yang mereka cari (alamat dan detil kontak dari tempat yang mereka cari), dan inilah yang ingin diatasi Urbanesia. Urbanesia ingin meningkatkan waktu kunjungan dan untuk melakukannya mereka telah menambahkan beberapa fitur baru sebagai nilai tambah dari layanan mereka.

East Venture’s Latest Investment: Penn-Olson.com

Penn-Olson officially announced that they are now funded by East Ventures.

The news didn’t come as a surprise for me, because I can say I’ve seen it coming since Jakarta Ventures Night on March 21, 2011.

Along with time, I’ve discussed it with Rama and Aulia, and even though we had no solid evidence at that moment but everyone agreed that East Venture’s (EV) process in funding Penn-Olson.com can be seen from days away.

Finally the news of Penn-Olson being funded by EV appeared few days ago, but still not official. Willis Wee, founder and CEO of Penn-Olson wrote a little disclosure in their article on Tokopedia, and today official release was sent through email to Daily Social, confirming that east Ventures has invested in Penn-Olson.com, and the amount of funding is not disclosed.

Investasi Terbaru East Ventures: Penn-Olson.com

Penn-Olson mengumumkan secara resmi, bahwa mereka mendapatkan pendanaan dari East Ventures.

Berita ini sama sekali tidak mengejutkan bagi saya, terus terang saya sudah melihat dan memprediksikan berita ini sejak Jakarta Ventures Night yang diadakan beberapa waktu lalu, lebih tepatnya 21 Maret 2011.

Seiring berjalan waktu, saya mendiskusikan hal ini dengan Rama dan Aulia, meski belum memiliki ‘bukti’ nyata, tetapi masing-masing dari kami menyetujui, proses East Ventures (EV) mendanai Penn-Olson.com telah terlihat jauh-jauh hari.

Akhirnya berita Penn-Olson didanai oleh EV muncul beberapa hari yang lalu, namun belum resmi, Willis Wee, founder dan CEO Penn-Olson menuliskan sedikit pengungkapan pada artikel tentang Tokopedia, dan hari ini, rilis resmi dikirimkan lewat email pada DailySocial yang menegaskan bahwa East Ventures berinvestasi di Penn-Olson.com, jumlah pendanaan tidak disebutkan.

Event Review: Bandung Ventures Night 2011

Bandung Ventures Night 2011 was held last Friday, April 8th, 2011, which is the second Bandung Ventures Night (BVN) event after previously executed last year in August 2010.

This time BVN event was somewhat different, especially the venue of this event. Usually East Ventures (JVN or BVN) events were held in a cafe or hotel ballroom, but this time the event was held at Comlabs ITB Multimedia Room, ITB Campus, Jl. Ganesha no. 10 Bandung.

The event attended by the startup founders, students and other invitees was opened by remarks from Batara Eto as a representative of East Ventures (EV), followed by some welcoming speeches from the representatives of ITB. The event then continued with the presentation of the 3 East Ventures portfolios that is Urbanesia, NightSpade and Tokopedia.

Hari Jumat kemarin, tanggal 8 April 2011 diadakan Bandung Ventures Night 2011, yang merupakan acara Bandung Ventures Night (BVN) yang kedua setelah sebelumnya dilaksanakan tahun kemarin pada bulan Agustus 2010.

Acara BVN kali ini memang agak berbeda, terutama tempat diselenggarakannya acara ini, jika biasanya acara East Ventures (JVN atau BVN) diadakan di kafe atau ballroom hotel maka acara kali ini diadakan di Kampus ITB, Ruang Multimedia Comlabs ITB, Jl. Ganesha no. 10 Bandung.

Event Review: Jakarta Ventures Night 2011

Jakarta Ventures Night (JVN) 2011 was held last Friday and there were two articles from DailySocial related to the event. But here’s another article on JVN that will highlight startups in technology industry who were pitching there.

JVN is held by East Ventures since last year. The first one was Jakarta Ventures Night (JVN) 2010 and Bandung Ventures Night (BVN) 2010. On this JVN 2011, before pitches from 9 startups, there were 4 startups conducting presentation. 2 startups shared their experience, Jason Lamuda from Disdus and Aria Rajasa from GantiBaju.com and after breaks, the show continued with announcement of two startups in technology recently funded by East Ventures, they were TeknoUp and Nightspade.
