Gandeng Lima Operator GSM, Qualcomm Indonesia Luncurkan Paket Data Khusus

Ini mungkin suatu langkah yang tidak lazim, tapi Qualcomm Indonesia berhasil menjalin kerjasama dengan lima operator GSM (Telkomsel, Indosat, XL Axiata, AXIS dan Tri) dan sejumlah partner vendor smartphone yang menggunakan prosesor Qualcomm Snapdragon untuk mengeluarkan paket data khusus. Diberi nama 3GQ (baca: “tri ji kyu”), paket data ini bakal berlaku efektif per pertengahan September depan dengan kecepatan yang diklaim hingga 7.2 Mbps.

XL Tunai Now Adds Money Sending Feature

XL Axiata enters remittance (money sending) business starting last Monday. This business allows XL user to send money easily via their cell phones. This kind of service had previously been done by Telkom through a service called Delima (DELivery Money Access). For XL, this service is the expansion of existing XL Tunai’s services namely online shopping, payment of bills and shopping in store.

This newest service from XL is one of the answer for the short income of operator of basic telecommunication business like SMS and phone call. Therefore, according to Dian Siswarini, Director of Technology, Content & New Business of XL, as reported by Antaranews, operator must enter the service that applied to daily lives. Among them is through this remittance business.

This money sending allows XL user to send money to fellow XL user. By registering to nearby XL Center, user can send money starting from IDR10,000 up to IDR5,000,000. For money sending up to IDR200,000, XL Tunai will charge IDR5,000 and above that amount will be charged IDR 10,000.

XL Tunai Kini Tambah Fitur Pengiriman Uang

XL Axiata, mulai Senin kemarin memasuki bisnis remittance (pengiriman uang). Bisnis ini memungkinkan pengguna XL mengirimkan uang secara mudah melalui telepon seluler. Layanan seperti ini sebelumnya juga dilakukan oleh Telkom melalui layanan yang dinamakan Delima (DELIvery Money Access). Untuk XL, layanan ini merupakan perluasan dari layanan XL Tunai yang telah ada sebelumnya yakni belanja online, membayar tagihan, dan belanja di toko.

Layanan terbaru XL ini merupakan salah satu jawaban atas menurunnya pendapatan operator dari bisnis dasar telekomunikasi seperti SMS dan telepon. Untuk itu, menurut Dian Siswarini, Direktur Teknologi, Content & New Business XL seperti dikutip Antaranews, operator harus masuk kepada layanan yang aplikatif dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Salah satunya, melalui bisnis remittance ini.

Pengiriman uang ini memungkinkan pengguna XL mengirimkan uang kepada sesama pengguna XL. Dengan terlebih dahulu meregistrasikan diri di XL Center terdekat, pengguna dapat mengirim uang senilai 10 ribu hingga 5 juta rupiah. Untuk pengiriman hingga 200 ribu, XL Tunai mengenakan biaya 5 ribu rupiah sedangkan untuk pengiriman di atas nilai tersebut, biaya yang dikenakan adalah 10 ribu Rupiah.

XL Axiata Presents Low-Cost Games with KotaGames and Other Game Developers

Last Monday at XL Axiata’s offices at Menara Prima in Jakarta, XL Axiata announced its cooperation with The Mobile Gamer and a couple of local game developers. With this partnership, XL users will be able to access WAP-based social game, KotaGames, with little cost.

As written by Kompas Tekno, an XL subscriber needs only to pay Rp 250 (before tax) for 12 hours of gameplay or Rp 550 (after tax) for 24 hours of gameplay. Afterwards, each subscriber can freely play during the duration without having to pay GPRS fee to access the games.

Bubbly Comes to iPhone Users in Indonesia

Voice blogging service provider from Singapore, Bubble Motion, brings convenience to Bubby users in Indonesia. Bubbly application for iPhone is now available and can be downloaded for free. Bubbly is already used by 15 million people throughout Asia, including celebrities. In Indonesia, Bubble Motion has been working with XL Axiata to bring XL Cuap.

Bekerja Sama dengan KotaGames, XL Axiata Hadirkan Game dengan Harga Murah (Updated)

Senin kemarin, bertempat di kantor XL Axiata di Menara Prima Jakarta, XL Axiata mengumumkan kerja samanya dengan The Mobile Gamer dan beberapa pengembang game. Dengan kerja sama ini, pengguna XL akan bisa mengakses social game berbasis WAP, KotaGames, dengan biaya yang murah.

Seperti ditulis oleh Kompas Tekno, pengguna XL cukup membayar Rp 250 (belum PPN) untuk 12 jam permainan atau Rp 550 (termasuk PPN) untuk 24 jam permainan. Sesudahnya, pengguna dapat secara bebas menggunakan kuota tersebut tanpa harus membayar lagi biaya GPRS untuk mengakses game tersebut.

XL Axiata Builds Cloud Service With Six Partners

Telkom with its TelkomCloud is not the only telco entering cloud computing service field. This time XL Axiata is trying to do the same thing by cooperating with six business partners. They are Fujitsu, IBM, Huawei, Microsoft, Intratech and Mandawani. The official launch of this service is scheduled for May 2012.

Dian Siswarini, XL Director of Technology, Content & New Business, as quoted by the SWA explains, “The background of the delivery of this cloud service is as one form of XL’s seriousness in data service. We believe that the demand for data service will continue to grow in Indonesia. One of the business opportunities for qualified data service is inside cloud computing solution business. The inclusion of XL in cloud computing business shows that XL continues to innovate with new business, including in the data service, to provide great service to Indonesia.”

Etisalat Plans to Sell All Its Shares in XL Axiata?

We learned that UAE telecom company Etisalat plans to sell its entire shares in XL Axiata (EXCL). According to Reuters, Etisalat which has 13.29% ownership in XL will sell its share this year to gain $600 – $700 million.

Its incompatibility with Axiata Group as the majority share holder seems to have led to this decision to sell. If this is true, then this will be the second time Etisalat will have done the same in Asian after selling all of its share in a joint venture in India.

According to an anonymous source, Etisalat was not treated properly by the new management of Axiata Group, based in Malaysia. Over the last few years, it seems that they haven’t found a way to cooperate amicably. Etisalat bought the shares in 2007 which was worth $440 million. This means that within five years of investment in XL, Etisalat would reap about 40-60% profit.
