AI Data Labeling Startup Datasaur Announces Seed Round from GDP Ventures

Datasaur, a startup for data labeling, has announced their seed round from GDP Venture. The development of this new service was due to the rise of AI. Behind every AI algorithm are thousands of human-labeled training examples. Organizing and labeling such data today is tedious, time-consuming and expensive.

Datasaur develops smart tools to make labeling more productive and efficient. It emphasizes a policy of privacy and data safety – previously, labeling was often outsourced and data could end up in the wrong hands. Based on the announcement by Datasaur’s Founder & CEO, Ivan Lee, the system will use AI-based models and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to proactively suggest labels and save time.

Project management tools are included for organizing data and assuring accuracy. Labels that do not match previous labels or do not make sense contextually will be submitted to another labeler for verification. In the first phase, Datasaur is focused on text-based data. It has plans to expand to audio in the near future.

“We have secured a seed round of funding. Since announcing last week, several investors have reached out and we are keeping the round open for a select few we think would make for good strategic partners,” the Datasaur team said to DailySocial.

Ivan Lee is the CEO and Founder of Datasaur.ai. He graduated with a Computer Science B.S. from Stanford University in 2009. He took a leave of absence from pursuing his Computer Science Master’s degree to co-found Loki Studios with three other Stanford students. After raising institutional funding and building a profitable game, Loki was acquired by Yahoo in 2013.

Ivan went on to participate in Yahoo’s inaugural Associate Product Manager program. He spent two years as a Product Manager defining and re-building mobile search using artificial intelligence. Ivan went on to serve as VP of Product at GoButler, working to define a new genre of virtual personal assistant. He most recently spent two years working on AI Products at Apple.

He currently lives in Silicon Valley. Aside from thinking about technology and its application to products, he enjoys playing Ultimately Frisbee on warm California days.

Datasaur mengembangkan alat cerdas untuk membantu pemberi label data bekerja secara lebih produktif dan efisien. Outpost Layanan Coworking & Coliving Space Berbasis di Bali Dapatkan Pendanaan 18,8 Miliar Rupiah

Pengembang layanan coworking dan coliving space Outpost baru saja mengumumkan perolehan pendanaan awal (seed funding) senilai $1,3 juta atau setara dengan 18,8 miliar Rupiah. Putaran pendanaan ini melibatkan tiga investor, yakni EverHaus, Strypes Holdings dan Clarenberg Ventures.

Saat ini Outpost telah memiliki dua unit properti di Bali dan satu unit properti di Phom Penh, Kamboja. Modal yang baru didapat rencananya akan dimanfaatkan untuk ekspansi ke berbagai wilayah lain di Asia Pasifik. Dalam waktu dekat, properti keempat mereka akan segera diluncurkan, dengan lokasi yang masih dirahasiakan.

Pada dasarnya Outpost berdiri karena melihat tren pekerja remote semakin meningkat. Mereka memfasilitasi kebutuhan ruang kerja untuk individu maupun kelompok (startup). Menurut Co-Founder Outpost David Abraham, generasi digital nomad telah banyak mempengaruhi bisnis di semua tingkatan.

Tokopedia Partners with Laku6 for Online Trade-in Feature

Tokopedia has currently released  Tukar Tambah (Trade-in) feature, a strategic partnership with secondhand device store Laku6. It allows users to trade devices through app without having to go to the offline store.

Rumor has it, the feature has encouraged Tokopedia to pour some cash for Laku6. However, there’s no confirmation on this investment rumor.

“We give no comment for market rumor,” Nuraini Razak as Tokopedia’s VP of Corporate Communications said to DailySocial.

Previously, Tokopedia also declined the investment rumor of the wedding product marketplace Bridestory.

Tukar Tambah feature

The trade in is currently available only for Tokopedia users in Jabodetabek and in Android version. They only need to choose device’s type from selected store in Tukar Tambah program. The stores include Official Store Erafone, Samsung, Asus, and Telesindo Shop.

Next, select Tukar Tambah button to run the software and hardware check to the device. It starts from touch screen, volume button, accelerometer, IMEI, Wifi, front and back display.

Tokopedia Gaet Laku6 Buat Fitur Tukar Tambah Ponsel Secara Online

Tokopedia baru-baru ini merilis fitur Tukar Tambah, hasil kerja sama strategis dengan situs jual beli ponsel bekas Laku6. Fitur ini memungkinkan pengguna untuk tukar tambah handphone lewat aplikasi tanpa harus datang ke gerai offline.

Kejora Ventures Involves in Sorabel Funding

Bobobox Terima Pendanaan dari Surge Sequoia, Agaeti Ventures, Everhaus dan Investor Sebelumnya

Startup akomodasi hotel kapsul Bobobox belum lama ini menerima pendanaan dalam seed round dari beberapa investor, termasuk Sequoia Capital India (Surge), Agaeti Ventures, dan Everhaus. Advotics tries to digitize data related to labor, business networks, and the company’s physical asset and products. The main objective is to transform data from trading activities and offline work in field to be a useful data to help management team in making business decision, such as marketing penetration, productivity, and retail sales strategy.

One of Advotics breakthrough is to digitize products through unique identities, such as QR codes printed on product packaging. It’s to help the company track the product location from the first distributor to the consumer, and keep it against fraud.

GoBear Plans in Indonesia After 1.15 Trillion Rupiah Funding

A financial product marketplace GoBear has announced funding in early May 2019 in the form of venture round led by Aego. nV and Qalvis Participaties. It was worth $80 million or equivalent with 1.15 trillion Rupiah. The money is to be focused on product development, partner network expansion, and resource improvement.

The Singapore based startup has entered some market in Asia, including Indonesia. GoBear has build office branch and special team to run business here. Regarding funding, DailySocial tried to contact GoBear Indonesia Country Director, Tris Rasika to ask about the next strategic step for business development.

“Currently, we (in Indonesia) started from 4 products, loan, credit card, car and travel insurance. Furthermore, using the additional funds, we are to become a complete marketplace for financial products. We’ll try to be consistent to form partnerships with banking and insurance companies,” Rasika said.

Since its debut in Indonesia in May 2019, the users has a significant growth. Globally, GoBear has reached 40 millions of people. Moreover, they will intensify the market expansion outside Java. In fact, GoBear is now officially registered and observed under OJK.

“GoBear Indonesia offer a smart targeting system that is not only help users to find the financial product they wanted, but also suitable for their profile. It means, we will display the products that matches user’s criteria and budget. Thus, it will increase the opportunity for their submission to be accepted,” she added.
